my PS3 keeps freezing up

I got COD4 the other day and played right up till the sniper level. Then the game froze up and my Ps3 hasn't worked since.

My controller won't sync sometimes too. This started after the 2.0 update. I tried to turn off the media bar, but after I thought I disabled it, it was still running at the top. Now I can't even play a game before it messes up. I've called sony and I am waiting for them to send me a box for shipping, but maybe it isn't broken after all. Could anyone shed some light on this major problem of mine......I just got a 40" lcd tv and I had to plug up my PS1 for crying out loud!!!! Please help with any comment that u guys have.....thanx

If you don't have it in a well ventilated area, that could be the issue. If you do and you are still having problems send it back.:)

My PS3 did a similiar thing. After 2.00 it kept freezing.

Go to your settings, it'll freeze so let it sit. Once it clears through get to 'Restore Default Settings', this will just wipe clean your settings, not your game files. Alsoeverytime you click it'll freeze so just wait 5 mins to unfreeze.

I did that and my PS3 has worked fine since.

Dude Dont worry man it will go back to normal on the 2.01 update the same thing happened to me;)

It seems like most of us early adpoters of the Ps3 have lucked-up. Most(NOT ALL) of us haven't had any issues with freezing or update glicthes.

WELL.....SEEMS THAT MINE IS A LAUNCH 60 GIG SYSTEM, MAYBE SOME HARWARE IS HOLDING UP BETTER THAN OTHERS.....WE'LL SEE IF THE UPDATES AND FIXING IDEAS WORK TONITEScubei

Hello I PLAY BATTELFEILD BAD COMPANY and my ps3

at first i thought it was jut the network cause it would always freeze on me when i was playing cod4 online but hrn i tried BF:BC and it froze and i played fifa 08 not online and it froze too...any pointers or anything....please help me out

i have a launch PS3 60GB, and it too keeps on freezing on me it all started with COD4 online but i thought nothing of it and did not play the ps3 for a while then when i was watching a blu-ray dvd it just froze mid film and its been freezing since, i was playing GRAW 2 and it froze mid game, when i exited game it just froze there with a black screen for about 15 mins then i gave up and turned it off from the mains.

IS THERE ANY SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBLEM HELP!!!

i've had my ps3 for a year an never had a problem till i bought fifa 09..... it's started to freeze an when i quit game it goes to a black screen for 5 minutes then switches off, when i switch it back on it oesn't recognise the disc, now it's started doing the same with tiger woods 09'

i've updated to v 2.43 to see if that helps but it's still the same

If im playing a friend in the same room I just turn my modem off :D

if you send it off to sony they will replace it with a refurbed 60gb so u keep your BC
