did you see the pictures? it's not lag..
and yes the movies works fine..
installs don't matter..
mgs4 uses more power then alone in the dark, so i don't think it's that..
yeah from what i remember one of the games doesn't have an install..
they might all so it could be a problem there..
i have tried different copies of the disks with the same problem..
Now that i think of it the data might be corrupt of the disk or games you installed from the psn, wich then leads to a bad installing causing alot of problems with games and ect. I know with pc a bad install of the Os can leed to a Blue Screen of Doom, Loss of drivers ect. Also i don't think it is not a heating issue beacuse i got my Ps3 in a medium sized compartment and play it almost every day. So it is eather a faulty HD or a Bad disk or download. Or out of the topic it could be a malfunctiong laser?
i have had games with installs that work fine.. if it was a problem with the code then it would affect more then just me.. it's just these titles which the 2 ea burnout and c&c only did it once or twice in the 30+ hours i put into them.. which i redownloaded burnout from the store and it worked fine, but since it wasn't a constant it's hard to tell...
prince of persia is impossible to play.. as things disappear and if i move i die..
alone in the dark the spike fly out of my body which takes up the whole screen..
re5 well that a constant and you can see what it does..
Can you borrow a disc from some to test if it is a HD problem or a disk problem. Then you know what you would have to do.
just because you dont have a heat issue does not mean no one else can. there are a number of things in side the ps3 that could cause heat issues. though im of a mind that heat is prob not his problem. a lasereye malfuntion is also unlikely as that would cause issues with all his games. Also a foul up in the optics would most likely cause his system to throw read disk errors ect. All i know is from the pics alone it LOOKS like eather a heat issue,a driver/firmware issue or a memory issue. remember that the HDD is not the only memory in the ps3. I have a qustion TC, when you reinstalled your system update versions did you use the same save file you used the first time, like off a thumbdrive ,SD card ect or did you let the system auto update directly threw the psn? if you used the same save file that you had stored on a storage medium then that may be the cause. Now that i think of it the data might be corrupt of the disk or games you installed from the psn, wich then leads to a bad installing causing alot of problems with games and ect. ok i got you. but let me be clearon this. What im asking is when you first updated your ps3. before the reformate ect. did you save those system updates to a storage device then transfer them to your ps3? if so did you use those same files to reinstall the updates. i just want to be sure. Iv seen people do this on PC's with GPU drivers.
well i just bought an 80 gig at gamestop, since they had that ps2 deal.. and since i am never going to play any of my ps2 titles ever again i sold my whole collection.. and got the system cheap...
needless to say all the games that are acting up on my 60 gig work fine on the 80 gig..
so it wasn't disk scratches or smudges or anything that has to do with the game itself.. (i guess)
