I can no longer shut down my system or disconnect a Sixaxis controller by pressing the PS button on the controller.

It will take me option screen, I can see battery life and the disconnect/shutdown options, but once there I can't do anything. The buttons have no effect. I can't shutdown, disconnect a controller, or even get out of that screen. The only thing I can do is select (highlight) shutdown and controller disconnect.

I'm really frustrated and would like some help.

behind the controller is a little pinhole opening that is the OS reset for the controller, try reseting it and see if that works

I don't know if anyone else read this post back when I posted it in July, but I figured out what the problem was. Someone must have stepped on one of my SIXAXIS controllers and forgot to tell me, because the L2 button was wedged into the controller and wouldn't come out... it caused the controller to act funny on the option screen. I took the controller apart and the button popped right out and works perfectly fine now... I'm not even 100% sure which controller had the problem anymore.

So, if you find yourself having problems with the Shutdown screen make sure that you're controller hasn't been stepped on.
