Yes it is.. i totally forget.. when they allowed media servers on PS3 for the first time this problem was all over the boards.. it just slipped my mind..

What's the media sever thingy??? Just in case i have a similar problem in the future. Is it the background downloads like when you download a demo or something??

The media server is basically that.. a server you can host where you can stream all the media on your PC to your PS3 or an array of other devices.. You can shut it off in Network under Settings I believe.
