I'm from europe. now i'm in florida, and i bought some game for the PS3.

my question is, if the PS3 is region free, i want to buy the console in europe!!!

i look at the side of the box of the game and i saw a simbole of globe with number "1" at the side.

controllers work to my knowledge

games work...the only problem is your ps3s power supply. you will need to purchase a converter to make it the right voltage when you move.

hmm i saw a guy post long ago about how he feels his ps3 is warmer using a special converter thing.. so becareful and make sure u do well research before investing with the power supply gizmos..

that was only one thread.. so i don't think its TOO much to worry about but its definately something to really research first.

That is the games region. Region 1 is North America. It's kind of pointless though since the console can play games from any region. I've got games from Region 1, 2, & 4 here that work without issue. Region free gaming kicks ass!

I have a PAL 60 GB model, not that it matters since all PS3s are region free.

Because that is the region the game is intended to be marketed in.

I am running a *** PS3 through a normal kettle plug in the UK (the same as a PS has) I ahve no stepdown or anything as the PS3 has multiple voltages, have been running it like this since the machines release in Japan, all my PAL games work on a *** machine, and all my NTSC games work on a PAL machine! The only thing you should be wary of is some PAL games will only work on an NTSC console in HDTV 576p or above. Hope this helps!

How many times do you need to have your Q answered? The PS3 is region free for PS3 games. If your TV supports the required TV standard you will have no issues playing games from anywhere in the world.
