These are questions I couldn't find answers to, so please don't lock this.

Okay so I'm thinking of buying a PS3 (right after I scrap up $500,lol.), and I have a couple of questions.

First of all can I play all my PS2 and PS1 games on it ( I ask this because I want to buy a few more PS2 games)?

2nd: Is the online service free and do I need any special adapters for it (besides a router)?

1. Yes you can play all of your ps1 and ps2 games on your ps3. Some may be an exception, but id say 95% work

2. The online service is free, no you dont need any adapters if your buying the 60 gig. All you need is a router and an internet connection through a modem or soemthing

Okay, more specifically will the games MK: Deception, MK: Shalion Monks, DBZ Budokai 3, DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3,and Soul Calibur 3 work?

And some more questions: Will my Ps1 and PS2 controllers work on it? What's the deal with the PS3's motion sensors (on the controllers)?

Couldn't tell you on those exact games, Mortal Kombat probably will. You have to buy an adapter to play your PS2 controllers through PS3.

cuz it seems when i play god of war on my ps3 it gets pretty hot after like 2 hours, but when i play a ps3 game it never really heats up unless i play 12 hours straight....

it also happens with resident evil 4 but when i play for like 3 hours

The 20gig can also go online (wired) straight out of the box. The 60g version also has a built-in wireless adapter.

Cool, okay so it sounds like almost all the new PS2 games work fine on it. I just gotthreemore questions, how much do the downloadable games cost (i.e. Tekken Dark Ressurection)? Should I get an intercooler? Is the PS3 really worth $500 or should I wait for just one more price drop?

Off the top of my head, DL games are $8-$20. (Tekken I believe was $20). Hold off on the intercooler, it's not really necessary, imo (i don't have one and no problems here). It is totally worth $500. Although, you're mainly asking people who dropped $600 and are mostly happy, so, you know, a little food for thought.

On the ps3 section of the us playstation website, you can search your ps2 and ps1 games in the back wards compatibility. As farthere is a 98% backwards compatibility with ps2, and all ps1 games work as far as i know.
