New character for the next METAL GEAR SOLID game

There are more hints that the main character of the next MGS game will be Raiden, while I think it will be great to play as him I still think introducing a completely new character is better.

I had an idea of a story once for the next MGS game where Snake travels across the world to enjoy his last moment living as a normal person but not as a Snake and he comes across a boy where he takes care of him.

Snake teaches the boy everything he knows in battle despite Big Boss telling him the world would be a better of without Snake, he feels there should be a snake to stand up for Justice and fight in what he believes in after Snake teaches him everything Snake passes away and a new Snake is born to take his place where he will be working under the man who worked and helped Snake in combat Raiden where he achieved the rank of Colonel and the support of Snake's closest friend Otacon with Sunny acting as his data analysis.

Despite that the new character lets name him X doesn't feel he can take Solid Snake place and during the game he has a flashback of snake telling him things that will influence him in becoming and accepting he is the new Snake.

What do you think of this idea? please give me a feed back on what do you think about this and would it make an interesting story?

as much as i hate to say this, and i kn ow ppl will say let it go hes dead or w.e but i want snake back.....hes my fav character of all time. i dont care who or wat says about it, hes the coolest game character i have ever loved and remember. i wish they can make a remake or somethin or maybe bring him back or clone him again. but i guess its like askin for 10million dollars to drop from the sky for me lolJoKeR_421

But wouldn't that in fact, hurt Metal Gear? Especially if they've killed Snake off for good in every which way possible?

I think it would be cool to play as raiden, and have all sorts of different combos to use.

Knowing Kojima, he would probably feature himself.

Wouldn't be like a hackn'n'slash game ( or what you call it) if the main character is raiden?? For myself i like the stealht mixed with action and other people around you whois in the middle of a war;)

I want a new character. Raiden needs to stay as far away as possible.

if it's a sequel and if Kojima can bring back Snake then I would love to play as Snake otherwise, introduce a new character that is more of a man than Raiden.

Id like it to be a prequel starring either big boss, or the boss. Big Boss served in Vietnam and had many other missions other than what we have seen so I'm sure there are plenty they could explore even leading up to Outer Heaven. And the Boss is a great character and seeing her entire back story and missions would be awesome.

Seemed to me Kojima intended on replacing Snake since SOL. So long as Kojima doesn't ruin the franchise it should be fine.

Solid Snake or Big Boss but I guess Raiden is okay too. They are all great characters.
