Even if there is BC in the next update, how the hell am I supposed to use my memory card? New PS3's don't have memory card slots and I don't want to start all of my PS2 games again..
Won't matter if this doesn't come true.
There is a usb converted for that, I got it free a while ago, really I never used it. Even though my PS3 can play PS2 games, I only did ONCE!Even if there is BC in the next update, how the hell am I supposed to use my memory card? when the PS3 1st launched Sony released an memory card adapter for $15 which allowed u to transfer ur PS1/PS2 saves to PS3 HDD. but starting over is not all that badEven if there is BC in the next update, how the hell am I supposed to use my memory card? I would laugh my ass off if this was true!
My 60G PS3 just got YLoD this morning, so after Sony telling me it would cost £145 to repair, I exchanched it for a re-con one at Gamestation for £39 and a bag of magic beans.
Was wondering whether to wait and see what's announced next Tuesday, but if it does turn out to be this (which I doubt), the 60G PS3's would loose their value and I'll be soiling myself in merriment!

You got a reconstructed PS3 for 40 bucks? Not really 60GB are the only ones that have actual hardware B/C and not the software B/C meaning the 60GB will be better at emulating the PSone/PS2 gamesI would laugh my ass off if this was true!

u should have just joined cp and got one for free lolIf it is true, then this is the best decision Sony has made in a long time.

You can buy a memory card adapter that plugs into your USB and it will transfer your data from there into an internal memory slot on your PS3. They're only like $10

The PS3 never had any PS2 memory card slots. Those were media card slots (SD, CF, and MS). The only way to transfer your saves is through the aforementioned USB adapter.

No the 20 gig didn't need a emulator because it had all the hardware needed just like the NTSC 60 gig had. These were the only PS3's that didn't have a emulator to play PS2 games. So they're saying it is most likely the "New" PSN is going to have PS2 BC, because of a "recent" patent for PS2 emulation through the Cell?
Firstly, that patent was made last December. Hardly recent. Secondly, why are they making it seem like a new PSN would be required for PS2 BC? All it would need is a FW update and a space in the store. I don't remember the Video Store requiring a new PSN. Hell, they could just put the PS2 games in with regular Store updates, like they do with PSP/PS1 games.
This reeks of a small site just trying to get hits. Of course, I'll happily eat my words if I'm wrong.
Isnt ther an adaptor you can buy for that problem. I honestly believe ive seen them at stores but i could be wrongEven if there is BC in the next update, how the hell am I supposed to use my memory card? New PS3's don't have memory card slots and I don't want to start all of my PS2 games again..

woohooo!!! so where did I put my dusty manhuntcopy???...
how was the game? The game was is and will be bad-as*that would be great, now i could play PS2 games again :) , i wonder if it'll use the HDD for PS2 save games or through usb..emoticedmar
My 60GB uses the hard drive. If, and I do stress if (because it seems like facts are either being overlooked or stated inaccurately), they do somehow restore PS2 BC, I don't see why it would be any different.
[QUOTE="PSP107"][QUOTE="philosophy666"]how was the game? The game was is and will be bad-as* I might finally buy manhunt but what system should i play it on. PS2 or BC PS3 Im sorry those of u w/o PS2s or BC PS3s dont know what ur missingwoohooo!!! so where did I put my dusty manhuntcopy???...

I believe there is no difference between ps2 and BC on ps3.
Game is gory and great. Manhunt 2 for ps2 is better because of the gore. Bought uncensored copy that here is available only illegal.

Actually there are a couple advantages with the PS3: You get a practically unlimited number of "memory cards", as well as HD upscaling.

I don't think that this HD upscaling will do much on graphic improvement, maybe a bit cleaner like pc version but that's all.I believe there is no difference between ps2 and BC on ps3.

If it's a illegal copy it may not work on the PS3 because of copyright protection.I believe there is no difference between ps2 and BC on ps3.

Yeah I know that but nobody's gonna force me to play censored manhunt - I can't play censored games - makes me feel sickEven if there is BC in the next update, how the hell am I supposed to use my memory card? As everyone said, get the memory card adapter. You can do what I did, buy it at Walmart, use it to transfer, box it back up, take it back to Walmart for refund, then sell old memory cards at a place like Gamestop. As long as you keep the box in tact, they will accept it back for refund with no question.
