If I were interested in buying a PSP game, would it be PS3 compatible or is it just something you ned to download directly to a PSP? Thanks.

You'd need a PSP to be able to play PSP games from the PS store. The only purpose of downloading a PSP game onto the PS3 would be to then transfer it off the PS3 onto the PSP if you wanted to do that for some reason. Although there are games like the PS1 classics and the PS Minis that are both PSP and PS3 compatible. So if you bought on either PSP or PS3 you can play it on both.

Hey thanks for the feedback, it's nice to get a straight answer and not be met with a wall of trolling. But yea, just got a ps3 so I could use some friends, Dropbones is my PSN username. Currently playing uncharted 3 and the Killzone 3 multiplayer demo.
