I always recommend Samsung mainly because they're a great quality and a very decent price for a big brand TV... whats your budget?

Samsung is great, but I have a hard time not recommending Sony... :P If your on a tight budget though, Vizio is damn good quality for the money.

Don't get Samsung. My Samsung 40 inch broke down after 1 year. Luckily I got warranty and its fine now. Get Sony no matter what!

Make sure it has "game mode", or doesn't lag otherwise.

Vizio could be the worst TVs ever... sure you'll save money on the purchase price, but you'll pay double in repairs. @TC: I'm guessing you'll be getting a Slim PS3, so Sony would be a good choice because you can use the Bravia Sync. Other than that I recommend a Samsung... just my preference.

that is not true for all of them... i have a small 1080p for my room and i think it works great... it has a game mode colors are vibrant, and i never had a problem with the sound...as a matter of fact i think it sounds great fora small tv.... if you dont like it you can always hook it up to a stereo sytem or something...

I hate bumping threads like this, but It can't be helped. I've got a friend who's had a Vizio for well over 2 years now, and it compares to my Samsung of about the same age. He spent $150 less, and has had absolutely no issue. It even came with a wall-mount and an HDMI cable. Costco also provided an incredible warranty on it.
