I was just thinking - with the next gen, would you like to see the current PS3 controller updated? Made more ergonomic, comfortable, etc? Or do you like the current controller? Post your thoughts.

i dont know the controller isnt terrible, the only real complaint i have on the controller is the anolog sticks, they seem to break very quick, i thought i was just because of call of duty, but i bought a new one and didnt play a single shooter on it and still the same thing, they start squeaking and getting stuck, SO yeah sony if here reading this fix that and i will still love you, LOL
No way, it's been relatively the same forever. Changing it would through people off. Like how nintendo changes their controller every other couple of years.
I would hope that sony will change it as I am not a big fan of the analogue placement or the triggers. They could also make it a tad more comfortable to hold as I find it doesn't sit in the hands nearly as well as the 360 controller. Main face buttons and Dpad are perfect though imo.
Yes, I'd like both of the thumbsticks to move forward about an inch and for the controller to be about a half an inch wider from the middle. If the batteries can be made smaller now while still having a long charge, it'd be good for it to be lighter too. For my part, they could do away with the sixaxis motion to do that.
no never. have you ever heard the saying dont fix something that isnt broken. well the ps3 contrller is great theres no need to change itevilmaster2424People with big hands really hate it. I don't have a problem except for it's triggers.
How exactly would you want it to upgrade? Theres not much left to be done with a controller.I was just thinking - with the next gen, would you like to see the current PS3 controller updated? Made more ergonomic, comfortable, etc? Or do you like the current controller? Post your thoughts.

It doesn't need a major overhaul, but there are certainly improvements that could be made.DJ_Lae
Exactly my thoughts.
I have the same problem, got 3 controllers and my anolog sticks have done the same thing on all of them. Other than that I like the ps3 controller.i dont know the controller isnt terrible, the only real complaint i have on the controller is the anolog sticks, they seem to break very quick, i thought i was just because of call of duty, but i bought a new one and didnt play a single shooter on it and still the same thing, they start squeaking and getting stuck, SO yeah sony if here reading this fix that and i will still love you, LOL

They could definitely make some minor changes. My fingers are always slipping off the analog sticks when I try to do certain things like drive a car. Maybe they could make them concave, or just give them a much softer, grippier surface. The L1 and R1 buttons are also too high - my fingers naturally fall over the L2 and R2 buttons.
List of changes for next gen :
1. The ring around which the analog stick moves ( the plastic part of the body that it touches ) as well as the stick part ( not the top pad ) need to be METAL.
And thats it. Nothing else. If you play frequently the stick rubbing against that ring of plastic will grind off plastic shavings as well as carve a groove around the stick part of the analog ....stick.
With the above change they would last essentially forever which = less controllers purchased which = this will never happen.
I would never want the ps controller changed. It's the best controller desgin I've ever played with.
Sony should let EA design their next controller! (Seriously!)
Buy one of these:
EA Sports: Comfort Play Pack
I bought one of these and sweet jesus was it the best thing ive ever bought for my PS3! It makes the controller alot bigger and makes the triggers well triggers... I cant use the DS3 without this pack now!
