So i got Warhawk for $20 used a week ago,, its not really doing it for me. I can trade it for any other game within a month and Ive narrowed my choiced down to Burnout, Orange Box, Ninja Gaiden or Resistance.

I played the demos for Burnout, Ninja Gaiden and Resistance and basically liked all same equally (meaning I thought they were pretty good but not worth a purchase at the time). Never played Orange Box for PS3, but thought the demo for 360 was pretty decent.

Help me out!!

Uhh i would pass on Ninja gaiden but i really dislike the Ninja Gaiden series. I would say either burnout or resistance more on the side of Burnout though.

i'd go with burnout, but i'm a big burnout fan so i'm quite biased towards it.

OFFTOPIC: does anyone know whether you can get portal for the PS3 on it's own? it's the only game from the orange box that i'm interested in.

no, you can only get them individually on PC. You can find the Orange Box for $30 though

Im a huge fan of the Half Life games, but The Orange Box on PS3 is a bad version of the game. If you have a PC or 360, get the OB for one of them. Id go with Burnout.

Ninja Giaden is hard, Resistance is good, Orange Box is Good but flawed by the loading sessions, I say go with burnout because its really worth the money for 30 bucks its a steal i just got 100% after 45 hours of play.

Resistance hands down.

For some reason this game got a bad review by this site, though as of late I have been finding ratings from this site to be very awful (for instance GTA 4, MGS 4, and Call of Duty 2 for starters).

Just get Resistance. It has good gameplay, a long campaign, and a fun multiplayer.

Well all those games are pretty damn good. Resistance has a solid campaign and some frantic multiplayer. Orange Box is a steal of a deal, but knowing how inferior it is on PS3 kinda sucks. If you have a capable PC, or the other console then you should get fix elsewhere. Ive been burnt out on Burnout for a long time so I didn't even try Paradise.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is one of, if not the best action games of all time. The story is cliche revenge and makes no sense and is a little pointless. The graphics are freaking sweet though, complimenting white knuckle fast paced action at a silky smooth 60fps. Even the great graphics mean nothing though. The combat in NGS is so incredibly deep. You could play the game for hundreds of hours and still get better and better, constantly learning how to string together new combos. The foes aren't copy and paste like most action games and there is a different strategy behind fighting each kind. With the nice assortment of weapons, incredibly deep combat, multiple difficulty levels and Master Ninja Tournament available after 1 game completion you will never run out of game to play. Its challenging, but fair and a game you shouldn't miss. Passing up on NGS is almost as crazy as passing up on MGS4.

All those are good choices...

OB is great and it had 5 games!! Not to mention HL2 kicks ass... but like said many times, the PS3 version is not as good as the others.

NGS kinda hard, good game if you are a DMC fan.

RFoM is sick!! My fav PS3 game to the date and R2 is just around the corner now. Probably you should try it to know what's goin on in the sequel.

BOP is cool if you like cars. Has a lot of thing to do and it should last long enough to make the purchase worth.

Having said all that, I'd go with RFoM because like I said it's my fav PS3 game to the date.

The 2 I'd get are Orange Box & Resistance. OB is great value, and Resistance is like our Halo (must have).

I'd get Ninja Gauden, one of my top 5 favorite games. After that Orange Box because of it's value and I've played Half Life 1 and liked it a lot. Burnout or resistance? Flip a coin, I don't really care for either game.

R:FOM - Still one of my fav games great campain & multiplayer and cool weapons. Cant wait for Resistance2.

Ninja Gaiden is alright but itsnt really much of a standout game to me. Burnout gets to repetetive and the open world makes it a bit annoying when tryin to get to a certain event, this game kinda killed the buronut series for me.

Opinions are all good, but this is pretty shallow advice right here. I don't see what makes Burnout so "next gen" and nothing about Orange Box is outdated unless you played HL2 back in 04, but as far as FPS goes its still far from outdated, comes with ep.1 and 2, Portal and TF2. True the PS3 version sucks, but its one hell of a deal still. Resistance is a good solid game both sp and online. NGS is action gaming at its finest.

You really cant go wrong either way TC, but if you have another means of playing Orange Box then you should skip the PS3 version.

i played Half life 2 before, and nothing is special about that game except gravity gun, i never played the single player again, but i like Half Life 2 deathmatch much more cause it show's how good the gravity gun is, and i heard most of the 5 games u get in orange box a mostly short games except the original Half Life 2, and Team Fortress 2 laggy as hell on ps3.

Cant argue with that I guess. If you didn't like HL2 then cool, its not everyones cup of tea. And yeah the other games are short since its just episode expansions of HL2 and portal is just a short puzzle game. It still adds up to a great deal though considering how skimpy most games are this gen. And yeah its a shame about TF2 on PSN. EA really butchered this port. PS3 really isn't the place to play Orange Box.

Well, Resistance is good, but it's really short. Burnout Paradise I havn't played. Ninja Gaiden II for the 360 was pretty fun. But I'm going to have to recommend The Orange Box. 5 games for $20? That's a no brainer. It'll keep you playing for a long time and all of the games on it are fun.

As someone who owns all four, I can say that they are all quality purchases, but it depends what you're looking for. Resistance is a quality shooter, with a decent campaign and good multiplayer. The Orange Box also houses several quality shooters, but as others have said, suffers a bit in comparison to other versions. However, don't let this discourage you from playing it if you have no other way to get your hands on the package. I would say of the four games you've listed, it's the only, truly MUST PLAY title. Burnout is great, but it got a little stale for me quicker than I expected. Criterion is definitely continuing to support Paradise with DLC and various other updates which have only made the game better. Finally, if you're an action game, hack-n-slasher type, you really can't go wrong with Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It's hard, but rewarding, and the gameplay is second to none in the genre.

Orange Box is by far the best of those games. If you've never played HL2 or Portal you're really missing out on some of the best games ever made. Resistance is also good but not even close to Orange Box.

In the future, please use the Game Recommendation Thread for any and all questions about what game to get next. Thanks.
