Personally I really don't think Ninja Gaiden is that great at all, at least the demo isn't. But I don't really like that kind of pointless hack-n-slash repeating game.

Ok, here's the deal. Not to nitpick, but how come everyone calls this a ninja game? Kind of a rhetorical question, but think on this. Ninjas didn't run out in the open and start attacking/killing thinks. Ninjas used stealth, trickery, and information and were assassins/thieves. A dude dressing up as a ninja is the only thing ninja about this game, and it really doesn't even look ninja. I wish they would do a ninja gaiden game stealth-based. Might suck because Team Ninja would do it, but worth a shot. If they would've dressed up Ryu like Egon would this have been Ghostbusters instead? Ninja Gaiden on the XBOX was better, I think. I bought Sigma from a pawn shop and was disappointed when I discovered there wasn't continuous plays, nor could you unlock the NES versions. Still a great game, but I gotta say this game is way overrated. It's in the best running for one of the best action games, I'll admit, although DMC and GOW are above it imo. We'll just have to wait till Darksiders comes out to see how things stand. On Shinobi was great. Way more strategic and thought provoking than NG. Shinobi was harder, 4 sure. Ending with this, best ACTUAL ninja game is Tenchu (not counting Tenchu Z)...maybe Wrath of Heaven, not sure.
