Yup, the first ever virtual card game with real cards. Nope it's done, coming out October 23rd I believe and Wizards Of The Coast is making the cards (the ones who did Magic The Gathering) so no amateur crap.

I really can't wait and I hope that the fanbase will be huge. lol I remember watching yugioh 4 years ago and wishing I could summon virtual monsters in real life from cards ;x

There is some special encryption on the cards and you have to register your deck before playing. Photocopies and prints won't work.
Also your PS3 will draw the cards so you can't cheat while playing. (it knows what card is suppose to be in your hand) so you can't play anything else.
They can try but Sony isn't stupid to release a game which you can cheat on. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this game and I think it deserves to be talked about.
Its been top of my to buy list for ages lol. Really looking forward to this game. Someone should create a union (Not me I woulcn't be able to manage it!)
1- Each card has a encrypted code for a reader (as with the Pkmn cards years ago and the GB card system)
2- Load the deck, but the system gives you the hand cards. You can see alllllll the cards you loaded, but its the machine that gives you the order in which to play them
The 1UP Show Episode 102 had a lot of information on this game. As mentioned above cheating is pretty much impossible for online multiplayer. You need to register your deck with the PlayStation 3. If you have multiples of the same cards you need to register these at the same time. Also as mentioned above when you play online the PlayStation 3 picks your cards for you.
If you want to really own at this game tho youll need to buy a booster pack so youve got new cards over the others. I think for many the biggest thing about this tho is its a cheap (yeah I said cheap) way to get a decent mic for games

Was it PAX? on a 1 to 10 scale how high would you rate it?
It was at Gencon and I would give it an 8 at the moment. I need to see more cards and really dive into the strategy. The two decks they had for demos were not constructed for real play. One was clearly more powerful than the other. The cards we did use were quite varied and had many different patterns of attack and defense, as well as quite a few abilities on the cards themselves.
I'll be buying it for sure on day one and working towards a competitive deck. It takes more strategy than your average card game though due to the placement and orientation of your cards on the mat. It should be a good time.
I can't wait to delve into this game, since skate is now out, its number 3 on my list (Folklore, Haze, the EoJ) it really looks like its going to be amazing. plus the price is excellent.
