No PS3 come 2008?

not to start an arguement, but I was at gamestop the other day and one of the clerks was talking to a man that had a over heating problem on his ps3 that was like 1 week old. Anyhow the clerk told the man that he should trade his ps3 in since it was new, but not only that he said to trade it in for a 360 because "the ps3 won't be made any longer if they don't have a good holiday season" now i have a 360 and i guess would be a 360 fan but, i still couldn't believe it. has anyone heard anything about this?

yeah i also had not heard of a overheat with ps3, i had the ps2 slim and holy crap that got hot 360 gets pretty hot 2. Man I don't know if they have like a ps3 sales rep for our area or w\e but that guy needs fired. I mean he just took the faith of a guy that just spent 600 dollers or w\e cause the guy now thinks it will break, thats f'd up. No one should be discouraged for any failure in a product unless it truely is certain

Depending on the store, they have sales numbers of consoles to meet. Its not a fanboy thing. Corperate tells them what to push, they have to push it. A former manager even told me that they are encouraged to lie because once the sale is made, thats it. GameStop doesn't care about its customers. Its cares about is money. Why do you think they give you $5 trade for a game they are going to sell for that less than retail?

Come MGS4, they will be pushing PS3s.

wow never heard of a ps3 overheating. some people* tested a ps3 to see if it would overheat or withstand extreme** temperature while turned on***. it went on for like 120 hours or something.

Check the sales u kids, SONY is first on selling, they selled very much consoles(dunno the number), 2nd is Wiiiiiiii, and third is X360, check the internet u kids, and talk later, sony in 2008 will win again like he did with the PS2, because SONY knows what to do, this is the true, A X360 n00b will never get it.

And besides PS3 has some cool technology that X-Crap doesn't have it, and i love that X-Crap Breaked so many times with his ring of death, when PS3 kicked his ass, ahhahahahaha

Why come here posting crap like this on this forum? I mean you know what most of the ps3 owners are going to say, so what do you expect from this man? These threads come up like every other day and most of the time from someone owning a 360.

here is the thing about that i have gone through 4 xbox360's with that stupid RROD and not only that but microsoft from their sales have not made a single dime off the sales of xbox360's do to this problem. I have had 1 PS3 and 1 Wii since they came out no problems. So if anyone is going to stop making its going to be microsoft until they fix this stupid problem they dont know what is.

Microsoft way to ruin my holiday by letting my new elite give me that i just bought the RROD 7 weeks till i can play my Games i just got for christmascome on.

The sales person is just retarded as there are very few "overheat" issues with the PS3 and those that do are probably the cause of them overheating by placing them in areas with no air or covering them up (yes I've actually seen someone with a tea towel over the system to say it keeps the dust off).

Also saying the PS3 won't be made any more in 2008 is just stupid. That will never happen since Sony knows that the system success is in the future, not the first year and they're ready for it long term.

In Jan 2007, there was a 60GB PS3 at gamestop... the clerk was actually talking people out of buying it saying to "go read the TIME article of how the ps3 is the biggest blunder of the year" then suggested getting a Wii or X360.

TIME also said the PS2 was a blunder... look how that turned out.
