I have a pari of Tritton ax360's. They are totally compatible with the ps3 you just get no voice chat.

I have the amplifier box of the headset plugged into the optical out of the ps3. I get my picture via hdmi. I have all of my settings right and I do get surround sound on my games.

On my amplifier box there is a digital light that lets me know when I'm getting 5.1. Games on my ps3 like Wipeout HD it works great. When I play a blu ray the light goes off and I only seem to get stereo sound. I have checked my sound settings and even looked at the settings on the disc.

What could be wrong?

it's possible that you are trying to listen to soundtracks that are incompatible with your amp. though in this case, the ps3 should process the audio itself and output the sound as DD 5.1. make sure that your ps3 is set to allow multiple audio outputs. that solved my problem when i had a similar issue.
