The original game in the franchise was one of the two games which sold me on a Playstation over my Genesis. When I saw that game, all of my Mad Max fantasies had come true. And then they released that second game and hit perfection. Balance, secrets, graphics, they really reached the acme of the genre with that game.
All the rest which have come since that second game were at best, playable. None of those games ever hit the raw edge of the first one or the thumb-murderinggenius of the second, and so for that, let's just say that I'm cautious about getting excited. I still have love in my heart because of those first two games, but the last few tastes have been just OK or even down-right bad... you gotta admit.
Well, you don't have to... I didn't mean to couch it that way... if you really liked #3, "Black", or "Head-On" then that's cool and I don't mean to condemn them at all. I had a copy of "Black" - It just missed a certain something in the sauce, so the dish wasn't as magical for me so I lost steam halfway through it. Ya dig?
:D
I'm cool with them giving it another try, and perhaps it'll own some ground like the old days. I wouldn't say that Vehicular Combat is dead, but it's sleeping pretty soundly... out cold, drunk maybe.
Perhaps they'll sober it up and make it mean again. Let's all hope!
