Not buying Grand Theft and Why

I don't see why you need to justify not getting the game. Kinda like when people had to justify buying a PS3 over a 360. No need to its your personal wants. I'm getting it but hey if your not heck who cares to each his own.

i'm not getting it early, but i will have it in 2 months, not so excited about the game at all, the only thing im getting it is because i wanna order my mom to get me somthing, i don't know what games to pick so i try to choose this one, maybe i play Burnout Paradise and thinking GTA4 is gonna get its ass kicked by that infamous game!

because i only buy games that ar fun.

gta4 has been done before... 3 times. in fact the previous 3 games were called grand theft auto 3, grand theft auto vice city, grand theft auto san andres.

i didnt like the first 3 because of the themes (i dont like drugs violence and sex in my video games, i prefer fantasy)

and the lack of aiming all together

The game is just pure trash. I played for a while and while the game play is very deep a couldnt help but feeling ashamed to play it. Anything that promotes crime is just wrong. There is enough of this real type thing going on without have to be exposed to it on a video game as entertainment. LOL.....Plus the whole time I would play it I would have to worry that God would be sending me straight to hell for finding the game entertaining.mgfarmer

yeah alot of ppl will get it including 13 year old and under, i might be hearing an annoying kid screaming while i'm playing GTA4 online.

End of the day, it is just a computer game. So its dark, gritty and sometimes possibly disturbing, its a under-side of life people often refuse to see. Like Bret Easton Ellis did with 'American Psycho', it was disturbing, sick and twisted but still a complete masterpeice when showing how shallow and lifeless people can be.

GTA IV, yes is a computer game but still the work of someones creative mind, which is art and art needs to be recognised.

I did not intend to get so many people bent out of shape. I just thought it would be interesting to see why some people do not like popular games. Someone sure is religious eh....not me thanks to each his own and thats your perogative. Either way i dont have a problem with ppl playing it, including myself its just a video game. I like to play the bad guy to in video games which someone eluded to saying they like playing the "good" side.

well what gets me is that he doesn't want it because it has missions.

every game has missions. Mario has a mission, get to the end of the stage, beat bowser, and save the princess. Racing games have mission. Be the first or you lose, thats why i don't play a lot of racing games. Sports games, have missions, beat the other team. Every Game has a mission and you have to follow it. Now, GTA could be the only game that you don't have to follow the mission. Zelda can be too. Any sandbox game. But almost every game has a mission.
