The new GTA does not glorify violence, Rockstar has developed a story that depicts the real downward spiral that will occur in someones life if they choose this lifestyle. In the GameTrailers review they make a point to let the readers know the new direction Rock* has taken, not some virtually unrealistic Vice city/scarface tale, but rather the real side where once you're in, you're in. And once you're in your life is just a ticking time bomb. Yes there are some graphic scenes in the game, but this time around Rock* tried to make the negative repercussions of this life more realistic and vivid. Crime doesn't pay, and if it does you have to struggle and hope you're free or alive to enjoy the money enough to stifle your conscience.
If you don't buy the game it's ok, I just believe you will be missing out on a large amount of potential fun. :) I still fail to see the point if any of announcing you won't be buying the game?

TC wasn't just trying to say that he didn't like the game, if you actually read a little harder you would see that he also asked a question and tried to raise a discussion = forums.
and if you don't give a crap, don't respond to the thread,
[QUOTE="ryank285"][QUOTE="mgfarmer"]The game is just pure trash. I played for a while and while the game play is very deep a couldnt help but feeling ashamed to play it. Anything that promotes crime is just wrong. There is enough of this real type thing going on without have to be exposed to it on a video game as entertainment. LOL.....Plus the whole time I would play it I would have to worry that God would be sending me straight to hell for finding the game entertaining.Symphonycometh
difference between fantasy and reality, even if one is imitating the other...
True enough. I myself can't play GTA simply because I prefer playing the good side.
yeah i usually play the good side in games but for gta i will be a bad guy its the only mission/sandbox type game i like and the only one i might be getting for awhile but prototype does intrest me i think it looks really cool

I do not understand the relation of your comment to any of the items in the quote box, but if it was directed at me, I have been trying to say that I just meant this as a very light comment, and I did not mean to ruffle so many feathers.

im tired of hearing people talk about how terrible violence is in videogames. theyre games...theyre not real. if u dont like it then dont play those kinds of games but dont talk about how horrible it is. if someone cant distinguish between a game and reality than there messed up enough already, a game isnt gonna send them overboard. _SOULtoSQUEEZE_
Aren't we tired of hearing about the violence in video games to the point you want to head-shot them or run over them with your (imaginary) car? Haha. j/k. Although I play and enjoy video game (and granted, 99% are violent), we have to be aware that they most likely do more harm than any good. And devs, retailers and parents must be responsible so that young people dont have access to games that were not intended for them.

Reading the responses has been most educational. I see that emotions run high regarding this game shortly before it comes out and any suspected "nay sayers" are greeted with a lot of suspicion if not hostility. I would say there are a hand full of people who are worried about the violence, immorality and sexual content in the game, but these comments are few and far between. For the most part, people who are not buying the game are smart enough (smarter than me) to keep their mouths shut to avoid the angry mob. Those looking forward to the game are hoping for a revolutionary game experience, and I think 99.9 percent of the people creaming for this game would buy it even if it were PG rated if the graphics, gameplay etc are as good as the early reviews say. I might actually buy the game for that reason just to stand in awe of the game even if I actually complete 10% of the game.earlaps
If this was how you started this topic it would have likely met less resistance and hostility. :) Simply put its offensive to claim the violence, immorality, and sexual content are what lead people to play and enjoy GTA. The sheer depth of the variance available in GTA games is where lies the majority of the "allure".
I just find it bad banging hookers an then running them over for funagariboldi
The game is what you make it. If you play it like a psycho then thats your choice. The game doesn't make you kill innocents and bang and kill hookers, only sick imaginations manifest that.

lol well to answer ur first question...yes haha jk. and yes i get your point. im not saying that violence in videogames helps society whatsoever, but i just dont think it contributes to the amount of violence today as much as everyone says it does. ive never got through playing call of duty, and then went out and knifed someone in the supermarket because of it. if someone cant seperate reality from a game, then i dont think a game is gonna push them over the limit. if they cant seperate games from the real world than there messed up enough already lol, but yeah i know what u mean, i just dont like people cryin out how violence in videogames is bringing the world to an end.

good post, and thats cool if this kinda crime and violence thing isnt your cup of tea. im not just getting it to go around and kill people. i mean i really didnt enjoy the other gta's, but this one just sounds so groundbreaking as far as videogames go. i just want to walk around the city and be in awe at how realistic the pedestrians act with each other. so even though i dont have a problem with violence in videogames, thats certainly not the reason im getting this.
Who is not buying GTA on Tuesday and why? My problem is what I call the "genre gap". As impressive, perhaps awesome the game may be, I just do not like the type of game it is. I avoid games with missions. What's your reason? No fanboys, please!!earlaps
so you dont like fps they have missions
I get motion sickness when I play San Andreas, so I'm skipping this game.radiocreed
I'm sorry to hear that. I get motion sickness from very few games and if GTA was one I would... I don't even want to imagine what I'd have to do..
