I was a little what ever about it. I don't know why. I can't put my fingeron it. It looks amazing. Just wondering what you guys think. I added a poll cause I thought it would be fun but general thoughts are good too :)

I think the PSP2 ( or NGP) looks sick and it's oozing with pure win! I just hope it has a decent battery life.
I feel like while they did show us a good possibility of what was in store in the house of Playstation, I feel as though that that was all they had going for it: Possibility.
It is great to see that we now know what the NGP looks like and the possibilities and specs of what it has to provide. On the games front, however, aside from the PSN and backwards compatibility with psp downloadable games, there was only possibilities of what could be in store rather than confirmed titles (other than Uncharted).
We can all agree that the Sony fans here are satiated for now just as we Nintendo fans are satiated knowing that we can play old titles to hold us out for the new ones to prevent gaming drought.
Uhmmmm...I'm not really bothered by it, but I didn't see any UMD slots...so I can say this with pride when I get one; screw you GameStop.
And trust me, I'm pretty damn thrilled about this design, since it's like a Go and a 3000 with the camera add-on after a massive case of make up...err...cuddling....between the two. I like the ability to add the straps on either side (or keychains, as I like to put onto them)....I just am going to list off my concerns about the device below.
I only hope those joysticks aren't going to stick out too much. I don't want to hit the jump button only to knock the camera all helter skelter.
And I really wish they would have the old XMB (at least show me one picture so I'm not going to be crying goodbye tears to an old friend who saw me through many an mp3 hunt), this new navigation thing is kinda, well, crappy...never realized I'd miss it...hopefully this is a submenu.
I think it looks awesome. All that technology in one device. My only concerns are battery life and the price. Both will have to be very reasonable for me to get it because if the battery is poor and the price is high, I can just wait for the second gen release because you know there will be one. I'm hoping they're very reasonable because I want one now haha.
Also, if they announce San Andreas Stories with GTAIV like graphics, I will be preordering it asap! :P
Gamestop? Isn't NPG gonna have physical FLASH based Media?

Gamestop? Isn't NPG gonna have physical FLASH based Media?Yes. So they will still sell games on carts, like the DS and 3DS if Im not mistaken.[QUOTE="MacSexy"]

If i wanted PS3 graphics on a hand-held, i would just save my money and stick to my PS3. The only thing stopping me from getting this, are the games. If the PSP2 cant break away from parity with the PS3 in terms of games then i wont bother. All i see are console ports or handheld versions of the same games we have on the PS3. Crystal-RushWell, if we start getting games that well incorporates the touch screen and back pad for top tier games like Final Fantasy, KZ, UC, etc... it would still be awesome I don't see why this PSP2 should break away from the PS3 games.. it should maintain it's basics and evolve via new inputs. Basically PS3 games.. on the go.. with gyro, accel, touch and backpad incorporations.

I don't just want to see direct translations of games already available, if you know what i mean. At the moment I'm just going to wait and see how the games turn out.
Well, maskROM based media technically. With perhaps a little bit of flash memory included for a save feature.Gamestop? Isn't NPG gonna have physical FLASH based Media?

You can play PSP1 games and I am sure you can play other PSN games as well for the NPG. MHP3 has been shown and demoed on itim excited for both the 3ds and psp 2 but ,pricing is my main factor atm ,
-unlike 2nd poster who said hes more excited bout this then 3ds, i cant say that cause , well i like mariokart, we all know whos got mariokart with that said ,
im a little bummed about no backwards capabilities , but this sure beats ipad lol , infact ill be the first to say that psp 2 and 3ds look to be the first handhelds i can realy really enjoy .
all that psp2 needs is games and a good price say 329,99-349,99 and im sold, -- remember , your paying for whats under the hood,
since psp 2 is 2x more powerful then 3ds its more then likely 100 more then the 3ds
like psp was to original ds of course by the time psp came out dslite hit at a 130 range so ya, i wont say it be 100 until the fat lady sings lol ,
but thats what their launch prices were last gen ,off by 100
nintnedo is always the cheapest and a gen behind since now in the console and always in the handheld -for smart reasons , im not gona argue
but once gamestop starts preorders im prerordering , much like i have my 3ds ,
see my goal is to own almost every console i can , now if they start jacking them up past 600 again ,,
nope
count me out , 600 is to much ps3 was luck , i was lucky i got that,
sony better have learned their lesson from this gen
same for ms , and i cant say nintendo needs to cause their always on key on the price

Key points so far (more detail here):
I dont care about the price ( i m willing to pay up to 499 for it) just give me 5hrs+ of battery life on normal settings and you got yourself a costumer.Solid_TangoYES YES. I'm totally getting it! Day 1 baby.
I would explode with joy if San Andreas Stories was announced. Words cannot describe how much I loved San Andreas. If they decide to have downloadable PS2 games, we might get it that way, but yeah, a re-make with a new engine would be crazy awesome. Also, if they announce San Andreas Stories with GTAIV like graphics, I will be preordering it asap! :P

I think that it has a lot going for it. It is going to have a hell of a lineup of great games. I just hope the battery life doesen't suck and that it is over priced like the PS3 was when it came out.
It looks amazing, though I want more information before I make any speculation on it, like when its gonna be released and the official media format. So far so good though, anyone notice "uncharted" as one of those bubbles on the screen?

Well it has a touch screen now, so it looks like this may work better than the XMB. But I still don't like how it looks
My thoughts...
Not a fan of the touch screen
Not a fan of the medicore resolution. They could've pushed more out of that OLED screen, hell...give up that touch bs
I guess I don't mind the fact that the games are all online, interesting concept. I'm curious to price.
Power, graphics and hardware it looks very impressive
Lack of specs or information outside of that....Kinda bums me.
It's a solid maybe. Sony while pushing out powerful products NEVER pushes out power games/apps/anything else.
Yeah, I agree. I do believe it's wishful thinking to believe this thing will be anything short of 300 dollars. Sony was dumb enough to push out the Playstation 3 at 600 bucks. That wouldn't shock me here.
Yes. So they will still sell games on carts, like the DS and 3DS if Im not mistaken. It's a bit of a reference to a previous topic where GameStop employees told a kid that they shouldn't buy the Go because "the PSP2 was going to have UMD backwards compatibility", after he told the kid Sony had discontinued the Go. And frankly, I think GameStop is a bunch of morons for my reasons stated in that topic.[QUOTE="j2zon2591"]

Anyways, once they slap on a logo for the system, I'm all geared up for it.
It's a fancy piece of hardware for sure. Problem is, I got the original PSP, hardly played it and then ultimately traded it in because there were so few games for it that appealed to me. And for all it's shiny new features, this new'n still doesn't feel that different somehow. Either way, I bet it'll cost a lot of money and I'm already pretty certain I'll be getting the 3DS - I can't afford both!
Mediocre? 960x544 is decent for a 5". And having exactly four times as many pixels as the PSP means easy rescaling of the older games. My thoughts...

i dont know how i feel right now. design kinda weirds me out but imma get used to it. i dont really wanna get the first gen either. plus how many megapixels are the cameras? and how much internal memory? and like the other guy said... XMB?fmacrazeWe'll wait for the NGP 4G ;)
I didn't expect this level of firepower to be perfectly honest..
I saw 1080p MGS4 running on a bloody thing and I was absolutely amazed! This is what I want from my portable device, the power of this gen consoles in the palm of my hand.
I'm setting chunks of money aside, I expect this to be price little over the norm. Regardless, it's a absolutely amazing device. It will more then replace my current PSP and continue to accommodate in more ways then one with PS3, and I have the feeling PS4.
First day purchase.
Handheld monster!
