I rented Demon Souls recently and have been playing Oblivion for the past several weeks. DS is extremely hard. Oblivion you can adjust the difficulty. This would be the selling point for me. DS was awesome...just too hard. I loved the smoothness of the action but having to restart the ENTIRE level when you die is tough. Maybe they will release a GOTY edition of DS that has a difficulty adjustment? That would make me buy it.

I personally didn't like Demons Souls. The main problem being the story.....or lack of story I should say. They just throw you into the game with basically a half assed story of "lulling the old one back to slumber". The characters you can care less about. I just found the game boring imo.

Oblivion on the other hand I can vouch for. If your into rpg's, I say check this out. You can easily loose hundered of hours in this game ( same can be said for demons soul but like i said I didn't like it).

I rented Demon Souls but it bored me quickly. Never really felt a connection tothe game. Oblivion on the other hand was amazing and I spent 100s of hours on it.

I would go with Oblivion.

I will say that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the best RPG game I have ever played and it is soo addicting, as for The Demon's Souls it is one of the most interesting RPGs that I have ever played and it is also the hardest game that I have ever played.

Even if Demon's Souls wasn't as hard as it isI will still say that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the much better game by far.

Demon's Souls is my favorite overall game of this gen so far. But I'm really good at games, all DS takes is to learn from your mistakes. If you enjoyed playing mario bros. back in the day, this game will remind you of that time.

To completely different games.

Oblivion will last you much longer without re playing the game, but most likely you will re play it many many times. Oblivion has a vast lifeless world, sure there are alot of characters but the dialog is so.. blah!. They do a great job with side quests (guilds ect) but the main story is awful.

Demon's Souls has by far superior gameplay without a doubt, the world is not as open but it sure feels huge. I played Demon's Souls for 86 hours and was on my third New Game+ but sadly my old PS3 up and died and I lost my data. Demon's Souls does not really have a in depth story, but it does not need one, this feels like a game to pick up and play but yet at the same time give you a bang for your buck while giving you profanity for your mouth.

Imo Demon's Souls is by far much better then Oblivion however Oblivion will no doubt give you more "bang for your buck" with hours and hours of gameplay. So I choose to go with Demon's Souls D:! why? because you can always buy Oblivion, who knows if Demon's Souls will even be easy to find in a year.

Oblivion no doubt. Its far deeper, longer and costs less.
