I havent played either of them including the other ones in their series. I like online games but i do have resistance which keeps me busy. I need help choosing one of these to buy, or should i wait for another game.
Both are different games. FPS or RPG? Which do you prefer? Can't go wrong with either game, it all boils down to what type of game you wish to play before the next big hits come out.

Oblivion is the only RPG I ever liked. It's epic and awesome. Plus wow isn;t my type of game. Doesn't mean it sucks.... Just not your type of game.... Darn, just like those people who say Gears or MGS suck.... They annoy me.
Even though I like FPS more often, Oblibvion is THE First Person RPG. It kicks ass. But then again R6 is really good too..... err I don't know get both but if only one get Oblivion.
If you're planning on getting Oblivion, do not get it yet because theres a GOTY edition coming this September. It includes the expansion pack Shivering Isles and the extra content Knights of the Nine. As for RV6, I have it on the PS3 and it's an amazing game. The single player is pretty good but the MP is where the real fun's at.
I would say Oblivion because they are both good games but RV6 will be much more like resistance than Oblivion is. Oblivion can literally keep you enthralled for months if you let it.
Do you like KOTOR? Do you like WRPG genre? If so then Oblivion is something you should definitely try... as long as you don't care about story.
R6 LV, that game is a shooter. Most people at western side of the world happens to like shooter, but R6 LV is tactical shooter. If you are fond of tactical shooter, you should try it out.
Since both are good games, pick the genre you are more fond of.
