Keep all Assassins Creed 2 Questions here

Reasoning for this thread:Well hopefully it will be like the Demon Souls thread and cut down on the topics pertaining to the game. Also feel free to discuss your feelings for the game, is it worth it/is it not worth it, why/why not etc, etc.

Post all of your questions here and they will get answered by the community of people who have the game

I am not 100% sure if this thread will be a success but I thought I would try it anyway.

Do I need to play the first Assassin's Creed before I play this one?

I heard the first one suffer from repetitive gameplay, does this game also have the same problem?

I don't think so. You might just be better off looking up the story. The first one had great freedom but it was very repetitive. This one from what I've heard IS ALOT better and more rounded out.

What does the house/town exactly do and is it a town or a house you can build? Can you earn money from it?

I would agree for the most part. It's not entirely neccessary for you to play the first Assassin's Creed to be able to play and enjoy the sequal. However, there are a lot of things going on in the game, especially in the beginning that you might be confused about if you haven't at least looked up the original story. Aside from that, it's hard to appreciate the awesome improvements from the first if you haven't played it.They have really made AC2 a more enjoyable game in my opinion.

This is why I say look up the story if you don't want to deal with AC. Clance I will try to look that up for you.

The house question... Yes you do earn money from it what I did is improve the bank and the blacksmith I think when you improve the bank your allowed to store more money in the chest. After awhile it won't save any more money for you. I used the earnings from the town only on the town and used my money for myself.

Because ACII is what ACI was meant to be. ACII fixed all flaws the first one had and more. There are tons of things you can do on your own time besides following main story quests. Story is more in-depth, and the gameplay is much more non-linear. The missions won't get repetitive. Ubisoft said that they tried to have the missions a bigger variety, and they were right. As gamespot said, ACII is a true sequel. Definitely get this game.

Please don't flame. This thread is for people to answer question. Ubisoft has made Vegas 2, Graw 2, and others. Ubi may not be the best game company but they do have good games.

The story is great. But nothing like a masterpiece. It's far more in-depth then ACI, I must say. I feel compelled enough to follow the story and actually beat the primary objectives of the game. Ezio is a fantastic character, much better then Altair.

i wasn't flaming so you'll have to come up with a better reason to try to silence me. and when i asked when the last time ubisoft made a good game, that was in reference to before AC2, as the question is to bring awareness to their previous games, which will then bring awareness to weither AC2 is worth buying, infact its laughable how anyone could possible suggest someone to buy a ubisoft game at this point, especially AC2 considering what AC was, at best this is a rent considering the massive wave of unhappy people following AC. of course this obviously isn't the only factor involved, but when a company makes a trend, it seems reasonable to bring up said trend....especially considering how many times we as gamers have been burned by ubisoft.

Go back to your villa. You should have a special room where you can pick up any previous sword, armor, etc you already got in the game. You can only carry one type of the same kind of item though, so you can't stockpile and carry a bunch of swords - you can possess them though.

Dude if you dont want the game, leave it alone. Just because AC1 was a let down, doesnt mean AC2 will be. And in pretty much all the reviews theyve said how massively it improved on AC1.

i never did plan on getting it and why are you trying to make this about me? i planned on renting it. but i thought others would benefit from some very valuable knowledge. Ubisoft is NOT known for good games, when you see their name, caution is highly recommended, not everybody knows these, some people are new to the game.

people need to start standing up to ubisoft, and this is how it happens. you talk with your wallet. they've been spitting out halfhearted games for years, and then spend more money on the Ad's it seems. speaking of Ad's, on blackfriday you can pick up farcry 2 at bestbuy for $4.99

so when people start doing the research and really looking at what they've been doing, you'll realize that if you want change, if you want better games, we need to really start researching our games. with HD gaming, everything looks super nice these days, so its easy to get caught up in all that, we gotta be smarter buyers.

First one was good but a little repetitive. I'm pretty far on the second one already, got it on wednesday (UK). :) Great game, I don't find it repetitive either, great game.

Not sure the last thing I did there was protect some guy. Some dude with long black hair, wearing a hat, beard came out and started killing these guys, I had to help protect this guy. Then later we were standing at the bridge (the place at the beginning of the game) and he was talking about how my father saved him

1.This game is not very repetitive, a lot of new and cool things you can do like different assassinations styles, and a whole lot of other fun stuff. 2. There is a town that you can earn money off of, its called Monteriggioni and Ezio's uncle is the founder of it. To earn money you have to do different side missions like collect all the weapons to increase the towns value. 3. To get your sword back, go into uncle Mario's house in Monteriggioni and find Ezio's collection of weapons, you can swap for the Sword of Altair there
