Yes that is the correct procedure. However some save are protected and will not allow you to copy them in this way. THey can only be backed up using the back up option in the settings menu. Also ot that the external hard drive must be formatted in the FAT32 format other wise the playstaiton will not reconise it[QUOTE="burock76"][QUOTE="emoticedmar"] Tried backing it up through via USB/Extarnal HDD?FluxZeroWell I am at work so I will be trying it when I get home. can I do it like this?; plug in the external HDD to my friend's PS3, copy the file to it, then stick it to my PS3 and copy it to mine?? My system is picky.. it goes nuts playing certain games.. prince of persia levels disappear and i fall to me death (was the worst one).. also alone in the dark and re5 mess up, c&c and burnout sometimes do it.. once i get back re5 i will post a pic of what it does, it is annoying as hell.. but kz2, cod4, w@w, r2 ect. are all fine..
i get like lines coming from everywhere, body parts go see-through..
EDIT - love the idea of this thread..

Has anyone found a way to fix the triggers on the ps3 controllers? As much as I have tried to adjust to them, I hate what Sony has done to the L2/R2 buttons (now triggers). Is there a way to fix them and make them concave like it is for the 360/Wii/GC/Dreamcast triggers? I am sick and fed up with my fingers always slipping off the damned things. :evil:codezer0Try searching on eBay they have a Sixaxis Custom Trigger something to make the L2/R2 trigger more grippable,
Hi, I didn't realise my version (an 80GB one) can play NTSC too or is that just which regions you can get it in? I'm in UK, so that'd be PAL, but I can play NTSC too. It also kinda sucks that it doesn't have flash card support or SACD support, not too bothered about PS2 games.tirralirra
Ps3 games are all region free
Question: Is it ok to turn off my Playstation 3 using the power switch on the back.
Answer: Yes it is ok to use the power switch but only once you have place the Playstaiton 3 into standby. You can place your Playstaiton 3 in to standby by holding down the Playstaiton button on your contoller and selecting "Turn off the system", by holding the power button on the front of the console OR by selecting "Turn off system" under the "Users" icon on XBM. It is recomended taht if you are not going to be using the Playstaiton 3 console for an extended period of time that you turn the console off using the power switch at the back of the unit. This will save power and reduce risk of damage casused by power surges. NOTE: if you turn your console off using tis switch you can not use the remote play functionality.
Q: If i put balogna into my PS3 will it work?
A: No, balogna will not play in your PS3, and contrary to belief there is no such thing as "blu-ray balogna" so don't stick it in thinking you can get free demos. I you do however you will have to open your PS3 and vacuum it out, pressing the eject button like 10000 times won't do anything. And if you do, for the love of god, POST PICS.
Source: im scrwd what do i do! and I got it Out! I repeat the balogna is out!

No they're not. I've seen plenty of PS3 games feature the same region locking that BD movies do. Bioshock for example clearly shows the "BD Region 1" on the spine of the game box, as does MGS4 and Street Fighter 4. That right there proves they're region locked just like everything else.[QUOTE="TehSonofUgly"][QUOTE="tirralirra"]Hi, I didn't realise my version (an 80GB one) can play NTSC too or is that just which regions you can get it in? Is it ok to leave your game disc in the PS3 after playing it for awhile, leave it there and turn it off when not in use?:D
Question:
Answer: Its fine to leave a discs in your Playstaiton 3 while you are not using it. However ensure that you remove the disc from your Playstaiton 3 before physically moving your console. Not doing so can result in damage to the disc, the disc loading mechanisms or the disc becoming stuck in the drive.i've got a question of my own haha,.. Australia: 1300 65 911
New Zealand: 09 415 2447
United States: 1800 345 7669
REMEMBER: Be kind and courteous to the technical support staff. They are there to assist you with your problems. They are not there to receive abuse and giving such will not aid you in solving your problem. They are humans like you and I and are just doing their job
Question: My PS3 will not play games, Blu-ray movies or DVD's. The blue light turns on and the loading icon in the top right of the screen appear but the disc does not load.
Soultion If both of these things are happening and it still dos not load the disc you have a hardware malfunction. It is most likely the blue diode in your drive. You need to contact your local PlayStation support.

Edit/Delete Message Reply With Quote Quick reply to this messageUtsavJain89I'm sorry but your system is dying. There is nothing to do but send it in to SONY. If your warranty is still good they should replace it, otherwise you are going to hand out an amount of approximately 150$. Sorry friend.
Ok, this really isn't a big issue, but being the person I am, it really bugs the crap out of me.
When I load gamespot on my ps3, it does not update the homepage. It is still stuck on the day where they had terminator salvation Q&A, bioshock 2 preview, wolverine launch center, and so on. The headlines update, but not the flash player options. They are still back in the past. There is no option to choose the infamous launch center or the star wars old republic interview.
This bugs me because I like to see current info, and using my computer is sometimes a hassel, so I use my ps3, but now it is having this issue. It is only with this site, and only on the homepage. All info is updated except what I mentioned. It is extremely frustrating.
Any suggestions?
