Thanks for a great thread. I couldn't agree more that offline split-screen is a great feature. I would own KZ2 right now if it had split-screen. At least when Gorilla was asked about it they were honest enough to admit they didn't do it because its too much work. I thought the MW2 developer saying they aren't doing it because it "didn't fit the story" was about as lame a lie as I have heard in a while.
Just for the record, there are some good shooters out there that have it. RB6V2, GRAW2, Resistance 1 & 2, COD WAW (although they don't use the whole screen, but it works ok on my 73" tv). I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I know.
One thing I don't really understand is games like COD4 that have split-screen adversarial or versus modes. How do you play a fair match when you can each see your opponents screen? I asked this on another thread and a guy wrote back that it only works if you're both drunk and you only use your knives. I still haven't tried that yet.
