Wow dude, you're being a little pessimistic. We can assume FFXIII has been in development for awhile on PS3 since they showed the trailer extensively at E3 2005. What if they release some different version of FFXIII on XBox360 about 10 months afterwards? That wont necessarily hurt the incentive to buy a PS3 to play the game ASAP, but at the same time 360 users can play the game also.

I don't have insider information, but if I were to guess I would say that PS3 develoment on this game has been going on for awhile and that it has been a primary focus at Squeenix

I was just trying to carry on the conversation.  It's difficult to have a discussion on the internet because you can be misunderstood so easily.

To some people it already has. People were bashing FF12 for being a single player MMO. To each his own. I personally like the idea of both consoles going multi-platform. The only reason Sony had these games to begin with was due to Nintendo being kiddy and worthless in the war, and no one trusting or liking the xbox. This gen people like the 360 and Sony has to fight this war for games, something Sony didn't do much of last gen. I doubt the 360 will get a FF and if they do it'll either be a  different lame version, an MMO, or maybe by the good graces of SE, we will see a FF13 version but months after the PS3 release.

PS3 = FF 13, 13 versus

Xbox 360 = blue dragon, FF 11

Wii = dragon quest, FF CC

 I can't remember where I heard this as it was a long time ago.

They can give one the ff13 to 360 but if they ever remake ff7 they better not put it on 360.ff7isnumbaone

EDIT: Blue Dragon is from MistWalker not SquareEnix.. Only 360 games I heard from SquareEnix are Project Sylpheed and Final Fantasy XI

2. Final Fantasy Haerasis XIII will probably be the new MMORPG and will be multiplat. But recent news says that Sony is nogotiating FFXIII's exclusivity so hence this game could be exclusive to Sony.

3. FFXIII will never come to Xbox 360. White Engine is designed only for the PS3. Porting it would only cost more and will take time and obviously be severely downgraded. Also, Blu-ray is a major factor.FFVII_Madness55

1. Will never happen. It was just a tech demo. That's a good thing.

2. I don't think the MMORPG will be directly related to FF.

3. Also Square Enix main market is Japan. The 360 isn't selling there.

I don't wanna see FF on the 360 as much as the next guy but cmon, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

And why do people act like ps3 would "lose" FF. It's not like Square are jumping ship altogether. It just means ps3 and 360 owners both get to enjoy FF.

Actually I think it would make more sense if SE were to bring a FFVII remake to the 360.  I mean most would probably agree that FFVII is the best in the series and most of the PS fanbase has already played the original FFVII, so this would be a great way to introduce a number of new gamers to the francise.

Did you not read the article? It clearly stated that the White Engine was built with multiplatform in mind. Anyways I am sure if the game requires large disk space to play than that could be fixed by going multi-disk. Either way I expect them to announce some sort of new game that is either exclusive to or multiplatform with the Xbox 360 in some way. A lot of companies are seeking revenues on the Microsoft platform and some, like Capcom, have achieved great success. Either way I wasn't really intrested in the Final Fantasy games and my ownership of a PC reservers particular dislike for the Xbox360.

Mutha F****** don't pay attention. First off,IT'S A POSSIBILITY IF FFXIII WILL BE MULTIPLAT. Second the WHITE ENGINE IS DESIGNED FOR ALL PLATFORMS. Third SE SAID THEY WILL NOT TAKE FAVORITES THIS TIME AROUND MEANING SONY WILL NOT GET MAJORITY OF ALL OF SE'S GAMES AND SE WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE ALL OF NEXT GEN SYSTEMS. So stop B*******!!!!!

 

Sorry to do this but I'm tired of all the cry babies. And like I said alot, be happy you actually have a next gen system either it be a Wii, PS3 or 360.

Wait!! I'll write it big so people can see! White Engine was made and used for FF XII NOT FF XIII...though a much improved version is used it's not the multiplatform dream you think...in fact its VERY hard to make games using the engine and recently SE was confirmed to be using the Unreal 3 engine in an upcoming game (check me if you want)NextGenNow

Why do people want a FFVII remake? SE has milked that game enough as it is.
