well i am planning on buying a ps3 sometime next month, but i want a 80gb or atleast one that can play ps2 games.

and now they're discontinuing it? does anyone know whether there is a newer version coming out and if there is when? and does it have the ps2 emulator like on the 80gb?

i do not want to get stuck with a 40gb ps3

thanks.

From what it sounds like sony are ditching the idea of PS2 play on the PS3 so i would hurry up and get the 80GB while you can just incase!!!

I heard the same thing pick up an 80gig while you still can. Sony is assumsing that if you didn't buy a PS3 then and now you do then you will not be playing PS2 games any longer. I think Sony is making a mistake if they remove backwards compatibility.

try to get one in best buy, since I hear that if a 120 gig comes out in like 2 months, they can change it.
