[QUOTE="HuhJustaBox"] [QUOTE="alberto2045"]dude get the 60GB am tellng you youll regret it it goign to be over in less then a yearxceptone
Don't listen to this guy. Sony's biggest mistake was not advertising the 20 gig more and education consumers and then cutting the production of the 20 gig. Sony claims they cut the production because consumers were buying the 60 gig over the 20 gig at rates of 8 to one. Duh! That is because for every 20 gig they shipped to a store they shipped 8 60 gig units.
Bottom line--20 gig is probably the model that everyone should have bought. Look at it this way. The 60 gig offers SD card slots which is utterly useless because you can put any data on a usb thumb drive. So the SD card slots are really pointless. Then look at the 40 extra gigs. I bet over 75% of the people that own a PS3 over this generation will not use up the 20 gigs. And if by some chance you are one of the few that needs the space--you can easily upgrade to a 120 or 160 gig HDD for about $50. The only other so called advantage is the Wifi. However, most don't need it and the wired router has no chance of losing the signal and booting you off of an online game.
Bottom line--20 gigs is the model that most should get. The problem is most people are brainwashed that more is better. Look through the smoke and realize that the more you are paying for is mostly stuff they you don't need and will never use. The only advantage is if you need to have wifi (like if your PS3 is on the other side of your house in relation to your router)--but I am sure they will come out with a wifi attachment for the 20 gig model. I am not sure but I thought a 3rd party was already making some.
Good info, but like you stated; the wifi is needed if your router is on the other side of the house. To me, that itself justifies the extra $$$- sorry, I can't live without online play.
I wouldnt trust wifi for gaming because in certain weather conditions it disconnects randomly and the reception is not perfect, but thats just me. I love my wired connection :-)
