does the 20 gb work just as good as the 60. i know what the differences are, but i was just wondering besides the wifi and bigger harddrive, because my friend will sell his to me for 350 dollars, and that will save me hella:D. it's basically the same thing just those differences right?

hey buddy :-), your pretty much right the 60gb has the bigger HDD & wifi+card readers which you dont really need, the 20gb PS3 doesnt have all those, bu other than that, the ps3 20gb performance-wise as far as games is exactly the same, nothing different at all & if you plan on saving a USB memory card can replace that card reading stuff & wifi isnt really dependable because the reception sometimes sucks no matter how close you are, so a wired connection is 100% more reliable :-) Enjoy that PS3 too, it's rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

Yea all it is is a bigger hard drive and you can upgrade that later if you want, the wifi, and the 60gig has some memory card ports on the front but thats really only for transferring pictures and music and with the new update you can stream files right from your PC so they are not really that important anymore.

you forgot to mention that if you have a PSP, you can still connect your PS3 wirelessly through Remote play by using a wireless router that you should have at home if you have more than one computer or system connected to the internet

Excuse me, but correct me if I am wrong, but the 20GB version does not have an HDMI port. That will be a big factor if you have a 1080p HDTV and you plan to watch BluRay movies in that resolution. Component cables only do 480p, 720p and 1080i. You have to have HDMI for 1080p support. Again, if you ever plan to play anything in 1080p, then you may want to research the HDMI port cause I don't think the 20GB version has one. Then again, maybe it has one, I am not 100% sure.

Yes, its basically the same, but the $600 are worth it, if you can get the $500 version for $350 in good state, it is a very very very good deal.

Yes it does have an hdmi port. Plus you can use either a usb flash drive or external hard drive to transfer pictures and music like I have and the hard drive and wifi is upgradeable but not necessary:D

what is the REAL reason why your SO CALLED FRIEND is selling his 20gig? Dont man i mean look at the problems the 360 is having on gta 4 because it has a smaller harddrive. don buy it, plus its used, wh knows what he actualy done with it

Yep, both models have the hdmi port. Sony announced that they added it to the 20 gig model last year a couple of months before the ps3 was released.

You shouldn't post if you're not 100% sure. Post versions have the HDMI port.

Don't listen to this guy. Sony's biggest mistake was not advertising the 20 gig more and education consumers and then cutting the production of the 20 gig. Sony claims they cut the production because consumers were buying the 60 gig over the 20 gig at rates of 8 to one. Duh! That is because for every 20 gig they shipped to a store they shipped 8 60 gig units.

Bottom line--20 gig is probably the model that everyone should have bought. Look at it this way. The 60 gig offers SD card slots which is utterly useless because you can put any data on a usb thumb drive. So the SD card slots are really pointless. Then look at the 40 extra gigs. I bet over 75% of the people that own a PS3 over this generation will not use up the 20 gigs. And if by some chance you are one of the few that needs the space--you can easily upgrade to a 120 or 160 gig HDD for about $50. The only other so called advantage is the Wifi. However, most don't need it and the wired router has no chance of losing the signal and booting you off of an online game.

Bottom line--20 gigs is the model that most should get. The problem is most people are brainwashed that more is better. Look through the smoke and realize that the more you are paying for is mostly stuff they you don't need and will never use. The only advantage is if you need to have wifi (like if your PS3 is on the other side of your house in relation to your router)--but I am sure they will come out with a wifi attachment for the 20 gig model. I am not sure but I thought a 3rd party was already making some.

Good info, but like you stated; the wifi is needed if your router is on the other side of the house. To me, that itself justifies the extra $$$- sorry, I can't live without online play.

I wouldnt trust wifi for gaming because in certain weather conditions it disconnects randomly and the reception is not perfect, but thats just me. I love my wired connection :-)
