No idea about how active PSN is, I'm a single player kind of guy myself. I had read that XBox Live was the most active online service.
As for the on/off switch question....I haven't touched mine since day 1. I'm too lazy to to get up and reach behind the PS3 to turn that off. I just use the controller to turn the unit off.
Iwas just tired of my my 360. I have had atleast 7 of them (no exaggeration) over half of them RROD on me. So in my opinion it was just time to move on. Also they stopped selling warranties for Xbox 360's atleast around here they did,because of all the returns they were gettingand me as a consumer I do not feel comfortable sending my 360 to Seattle and not being able to play games for monthsalso some of my friends 360s were lost by Microsoft or in the process of getting there. So, i guess it's just time for a change.-Gaming_God-
