For Christmas I will be getting a 1080p LCD computer monitor to play my ps3 on in my room, for the size of my room a 21.5-22in monitor will be good. I want it to be easy to setup external speaker since most built-in speaker just don't cut it. I'm going to list a few monitors I have found and looked to be good for what I wanted. I am asking you to comment on these monitors I have listed and give any feedback on them or any other monitors you reccomend in the $200 and below price range. the easiest way to plug it into your monitor is that make sure your monitor has speakers and and an hdmi input. Although there are adapters that you can buy online to plug your PS3 to the monitor using vga cables. I was actually researching it yesterday but don't remember the website because I decided not to get it. I'm pretty sure you can find it though.

I would go with the acer since it has built in speakers and an hdmi input with hdmi cables. And if that thing in the back of the monitor is an audio in/output then you can get speakers like this and plug it into the back of the subwoofer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836116037

If you dont have one with speakers you can do what i had too. Which is to patch the ps3's sound into a pc or a speaker system w/e you have really and then have the hdmi into the monitor or with a dvi adapter if the monitor doesnt have that. It all depends what you have or what your going to buy, but tottally agree with above posts, get a monitor or better yet a "TV". Something with speakers and hdmi.

no, do you see that green audio wire in the pics? you plug that from your monitor(assuming that it has audio output) to the audio slot in the back of the subwoofer of the 2.1 speakers that I just showed you. It doesn't def have to be those speakers. Nowadays most PC speakers have audio inputs if not 2(like mine) which would be on the volume controller.

man you need to step it up and play on a 26" inch at least. i have the t260hd. but just know that gaming on these cheap TN panel monitors will ruin the experience. you just wont get the colors that a HDTV can give you.

wooow this was EXACTLY what I was saying about 4 months ago - I needed a 22 in Hi-Def monitor for my room to play my PS3 on because the same price range in a small tv is like 1000:1 contrast and 720p whereas I got a 40,000:1 contrast ratio and full 1080p 23" monitor from best buy for 230$ bucks! The only advice I would give u is do NOT get the matte screen - get the HIGH -GLOSS screen - i couldnt be more happy - the picture quality is OUT OF THIS WORLD! id take my 23 in monitor ver my 54 in TV anyday - i prefer smaller screens anyway. Anyway the audio was the only problem - the "speakers" on those monitors are soooo bad so i bought standard computer speakers and used an auxillary in with a y - female adaptor that I plugged the composite cables into from my ps3 and outputed my video through HDMI and my audio through composite - couldnt be happier
