Should I get the 40GB or wait for the new 80GB coming out that will have every thing the 40GB has. I don't care about backward compatibility sense most of the games I care about can be gotten from the American or Japanese Playstation Store.

I also decided to never change my hard drive because I won't need to, so what I buy is what I get.

I know most people will just say, why can't I make up my mind. Well I just want someone to tell me if its a good idea to get the 40GB now or get the new 80GB that coming out without any body flaming me.

IMO get the 40gig, your not gonna use the backward capability, and chances are your probly not even gonna use up all 40 gigs.

Wait for the new 80GB.

If you want backwards compatibilty then it would be cheaper to get a PS2 seperately but since you don't want that then just wait for the 80 GB version.

Let me just put it this way. The 80GB that's coming out is going to be the EXACT same price as the 40GB, except [obviously] twice the hard drive space, which may be more important than you think, and, if I'm not mistaken, it's going to come with a DualShock controller instead of just the Sixaxis controller.

Oh believe me, with all the installs you'll have to go through you WILL need a bigger harddrive.

I would wait for the 80gig. But buy the time they come out I'm sure you'll be able to find special deals for the 40gig like an extra game or something.

No one will flame you. I got reported for no reason and they reduced my points lol. So I don't think anyone will flame you. But I have the 40 GB ps3 and I'm happy with it. Also this is a secret "you can save your games on an external hard drive" soo um the extra 40 GB to me has no purpose :) BUT I ONLY heard this from a friend and have yet to try this out on my own. I will let you know if it does work though. But it's all up to you. If you wanna wait till the new 80 GB comes out or if you wanna go to store now and have your ps3 now. It's all in your hand but it doesn't really matter. Hope that helped.
