Good luck in finding a cheap and good burner in the near future. Good luck in finding cheap virgin BR discs in the near future. Good luck in finding the 1920×1080 versions of the movies in the near future.
Also, if you want to buy a console JUST FOR ONE GAME...don't game at all. Cheaper in the long run...much more.
I see incredibly cheap players/burners on newegg. I didnt want to buy it for Final Fantasy there were other games that were originally exclusive like RE5. It was the fact that I would give anything to play it and would buy a $1000 system to have it. Is FFXIII Versus for sure a PS3 exclusive?Good luck in finding a cheap and good burner in the near future. Good luck in finding cheap virgin BR discs in the near future. If you are wondering if this is a good financial move than it isn't. Wait a awhile until that no longer become a determining factor.FlashChargeIf it is a bad financial move, only you can decide that TC. We have no idea of your income versus your budget. If you are tight on money, buying a console that has $65 games is probably not going to make life easier for you. But if you can make it work, buy some used games or DL from PSN, hold off on the newer titles, or just save money elsewhere then sure it would be great to have. In the long run this decision has to come from you.

I just wanted to make sure it was a good decision and needed a little persuasion. It really sealed the deal once I realized that versus is exclusive and ive thought myself that blu ray burners are a waste of money at this point until say a year from now.

If you need us to convince you into getting a PS3, you're probably not sure if you want a PS3 and ready to buy a PS3 in the first place.

He's right. I misunderstood thinking it was a financial decision. Let us know what the reason you need to be convinced is. Is it the games, hardware/quality, online, features...etc? What is it that you need the convincing on? My opinion is that the PS3 is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I get more entertainment out of it than any PC I have ever had or any other console, with the exception of my first NES in 1988.It is packed full of useable features, is very reliable, and is built with strong regard to quality. The game library has actually taken off with many excellent exclusives and multiplatforms. The online is free and has finally matured to the point that it can be directly compared to Live. It is a very sexy peice of technology to have in your media center or living room. I can go on and on....If money is no object, buy the thing and enjoy it. If you don't like it, sell it , simple as that.
But if you do buy it, SUPPORT IT !!! Keep in mind that having a PS3 can get very expensive. I have spent over $2000 on just games and movies for the system.
I cannot say how much is makes me angry to hear people that buy the PS3 then complain about how boring it is, only to find out that they do not buy games or Blu Ray movies. You don't have to buy every game that comes out. But if you want to enjoy the system, you will have to drop some cash on it now and again.
