Playstation Plus? What are your thoughts?

Hi I recently got a Ps3 so far I've had a pretty good experience with it.

I noticed something called Playstation Plus I saw a few vids online regarding what it was and seems like just a subscription program for the Ps3 offers free stuff I assume avatars and games but what more does it offer? Are those games like...really free? (Do you get to keep em if you stop paying?) is there a reason I should get that I mean does it enhance the experience somehow? What's your opinion of the service?

I've considered acquiring that but I'd like to read some opinions about the service first to help me get a better idea about what I'd be getting into

Its worth it.

I got mine 2 months ago and I have no regrets. Free games, discounts on dlc and movies.

Im also very glad that when I get my ps4, Ill have ps plus already active so I can play online and get Drive club for free.

If you're getting it for the games then forget it

They're not free games, they're rentals that you never get to pick out yourself, that means you'll end up with games that no one is playing right now like Deus Ex.

Now for cloud saves and updates? That's worth it

The PSN's awful infrastructure makes Playstation Plus worth it just so it'll take care of your console when you're not playing it.

I don't touch my PS3 unless I have review games for it so it's nice to not touch the console for weeks at a time but the second I turn it on it's up to date

You get some of the game modes from Drive Club for free. You will need to buy the game in order to play all of it

Tracks are a big one for me, I don't mind the cars so much but the tracks kill it

i personally dont use the service imo.

Its worth it for the first year at least. You get 18 games starting out and 5 new games a month added to your account. The "free" games they give you are always on your account forever, but only as long as your ps+ account is active. You get ps3 and vita games each month, and when ps4 comes out youll get games for it also.

You also get discounts on the PSN store and other benefits.

So 50 bucks for a couple hundred dollars of games right off the bat and more each month is worth it.

The account will work across all playstation systems also. So your account will work on vita and ps4 as well as your ps3.

how are they not free??? you pay for the year and get games every month for free which in total if you bought the games as hard copies that would be will over the year subscription, what i don't get is the fact ps+ next gen anyway is mandatory to play online and you get these games, if you don't want to play them don't download them. and how can you call it a rental when you get to keep the games anyway, yes you have to be subscibed to ps+ but if anyone is going to have ps+ there probably thinking about keeping it going. so the 5+ games each month rack up to a hell of a lot of games, and what are you talking about dues ex for, people aren't playing it??? it's a single player game, it can be enjoyed when ever by people who may of missed it or didn't fancy buying the game but were intrigued it's a great game aswel to give away
