Please wait...Loading....updating......more loading and updating....

I've had my PS3 for some time now and i sick of all the l...o...n...g loading times...why is it not mentioned anywhere about the updates for everything. i have to wait 30 minites for a game to install then wait another 30 minites for any updates for the game, then if i wont muilitplayer i have to wait again...

This waiting is getting crazy because its every game i put in..... i'm going of the ps3 for this reason i hate waiting and the this console is taking the micky

PS:i have a great internet connection so its not that.

i still say its your connection. I download things in literally minutes.

Its all the time though and its a real pain...it totaly ruins it for me as all i do with my ps3 is wait...i buy a console to play games not to sit there bord

It's not like you'll be doing it all the time vs the amount of time you'll be actually playing the game. Updates generally come out once in a blue moon and installing shouldn't take long. I've never had a problem with long loading times.

Ah, I remember the days when Steam was first launched. Oh, the joys of installing Half-Life 2 on launch day (all 5 cd's of course :roll: ), then waiting for steam to unlock the files, then waiting for steam to verify the files. THEN, launching it for the first time, and waiting for steam to update the files. You learn to live with it. Go heat some Ravioli while the ps3 is updating and think of the joys of classic steam.

This happened to me when I popped in Uncharted 2 the first time and I had to wait for the update to finish dling and install. Generally I just go take a nap when these things happen. Updates are just something you just learn to deal with in games on any platform.spiderman120988

MAG? I went to the mall and got something to eat and it was barley done. I went to walmart when trying to update MGO lets just say i gave up..Javieralijandro

Grrrr.... 2 freakin gig update???? Dang that was annoying. 47 minutes. I plugged in my Strat & wailed country & blues while it was doing that. Usually though, I initialize those lenghty updates & DLs right before going to bed. I was just caught off guard by MAG. It's not the end of the world. As another poster said; PC can suffer from lengthyness as well.

Meh. Oh well.

so the ps3 is good for something...u got so frustrated that you did something productive....congrats....now if only u could practice without spending 300usd on a video game console lol. sry im a music major and find it completely hilarious that ur complaining about the oportunity to practice.

I dont have trouble waiting with any other console, and i hate the fact that i paid 300+ on a console that makes me wait half an hour each time i put in a game for its next update (and i have a good few games and if i've not been on a game for a month it wonts an update)...i've got all the consoles and dont have trouble with the others so i dont see my connection as the problem. i cont get my head around you guys being really cool with having to wait for the lengh of time the ps3 makes you wait....

its a huge downer for me and think i'll sell my ps3, its a very poor idea to make me wait over and over again to play a game, i get a console to play not to wait and i think in my opinion that this should be made more clear for people who our unsure about what console to buy because if i knew i'd have to wait these kind of times then i wouldnt have botherd buying a PS3....i feel really let down sony...

a few people have mentioned having this problem in this thread plus i've spoke to friends and work colleges who have also had the same problem.

and just for you infomation. my internet connection is 20mb speed with a £250 wireless router. so its the PS£

What games are you talking about? Cuz I cant think of any game that has updates so offten. I also cant think off any game that takes a long time to update/installs (other than MSG4 and MAG beta).RTUUMM

It's not talked about because everyone seems to have something you lack. It's called patience. Personally, I don't see a problem with the updates. Literally for me they take a few minutes to complete. I don't wait there long at all. Just be glad that the games you are playing are supported with updates and extra content. It amazes me. People whine when they don't get something (like extra content or title support) but when they get it they whine that they have it because it's not how they wanted it.

I dont mind updates and i dont mind waiting a min here or there but when i'm made to wait 15- 30 or even over an hour for an update thats when it starts to take the mic...and its only the PS3 that dose this, i've had no problems like this else were
