Killzone 2.
The original Resistance wasn't very good based off the demo. The controls were poorly mapped, simple things such as an animation between regular view and looking down a scope were missing, and the weapons were borderline retarded. Seriously, a gun that can shoot through cover? That's not even fun...it feels cheap.
Also, it doesn't help that Resistance managed to combine the 2 most overdone FPS scenarios, WWII (ok not technically but same era) and Sci-Fi. At least Killzone feels somewhat unique.

"based off the demo"
This is definitely not a game you can judge by the demo - it was a horrible representation of the game. Your opinion means nothing unless you've actually played the full version and have heard all of the news that's been released about Resistance 2.

The Auger is one of the more difficult, but rewarding weapons to use in both the campaign and the story. While it does shoot through walls and do a lot of damage, it moves very slowly and your enemies also use the gun on you. Insomniac has done a near-perfect job of balancing all of the weapons so that none of them are too weak or too powerful. Also, they have some of the most creative weapons I've seen in an FPS. Get the full game, play the campaign and the online multiplayer, and then you'll see what I'm talking about.

Resistance is unique in that it combines these two bland, overdone scenarios, and forms a completely one-of-a-kind experience. Again, if you've played the demo, that isn't something you would expect to find in the real game, but the blend of WWII and Sci-Fi is awesome, and it certainly doesn't feel like any other WWII or Sci-Fi shooter out there.
Alright! Well, allow me to step in as the resident fanboy for the Killzone 2 camp. I mean... look at my avatar for crying out loud. But seriously folks, Killzone 2 (if it achieve the technical and viseral levels we've all be promised) will far surpass the experience you get with Resistance 2. I've played bother Killzone (2 yrs competitive play - leader of a top 10 clan on GB) and Resistance (clan member - all but three metals in ranked online) and both are great games. Someone asked what was special about the original Killzone... my answer ... cooking grenades with a digital timer (sounds included), sprinting with stamina meter, realistic (and awesome - sniper pistol - guided rocket launcher) weapons when everyone else (Halo, Timesplitters, Unreal, Quake) were going to route of the lazer, and finally (something that is still overlooked today) bots on offline. Yes, I said it... something that stands out was BOTS IN OFFLINE! Also, the maps were all pretty balanced and awesome. I want to take this time to honor the shotgun in Killzone (R1 + R2 = 3 Shells of DEATH and +1 Kill). Amen! Also, on the weapons front... the Helghast pistol is still the best handgun I've used in any game. ie. R1 + R2 = 3 Bullets to the Brain +1 Frustrated/OWNED opponent.
/fanboy rant.
Thank you for your time.
Both... i really want both :)
Hope we won't hear about further delays on KZ2, or delays on Resistance 2....
Oh man, that's a tough call..
I had a blast with Resistance single player which even today holds up very well. I simply can't chose - I'll have them both pre-ordered, they are bound to be fantastic shooters. :)
I picked Killzone 2 because I think it looks more intresting and i like the dark vibe in the game and the enemies look cool.
I didn't rly like the first resistence, it was just a ok game in my opinion and i doubt i will buy the second one
Definetly KZ2 the 1st was really good, people only called it other than good because it was dubbed a Halo killer. But it's by far better than Resistance which I put down after the 3rd or 4th level. So both games got their ratings based off their period in time. RFOM was good because it was the only PS3 game worth anything, Killzone was bad because it was dubbed a Halo killer. But in terms of story, gameplay, weapons, graphics, and fun to play from the 1st games of each. I'm going with KILLZONE 2, I just thought it offered more than Resistance did, but I'll buy both.
