well apparently ps3 will drop in price by $200 at the end of the month lick herefor more info

i think its a fat load of bull**** but still if it did drop by that much so soon, PS3's will be flying off the shelves and we may find ourselves in the same situation the wii is in (sold out, try again next week) and there is a little proof they may do it, sony recently droped the price of their blu-ray player by $100, but still i dont believe we will see a price drop until the non-denominational winter holidays (a little political humour there).

i dont buy it. sony will not drop it now, i think they will in the fall and it'll likely be $100. $200 is a TON to cut off just like that. with the price of blu-ray dropping by the end of the year, ps3's will be cheaper

hmm, yeah, i dont really buy it. First of all, its a topic in a forum about something someone overheard at bestbuy. First of all, he could have misheard something and second of all, at best buy they are biased as hell towards 360. They love to mill over all these rumors and possibly tell them to customers to get them to buy 360s. Second of all, its really illogical if you think about it, i mean a 200 dollar price drop in 2 years is acceptable, as the original ps2 dropped 100 dollars of its price after about 2-3 years, but 7 months is ridiculous. Sony number one would not do that to their customers, and number two, they are still losing a lot of money already on the ps3, which still costs them about 800-900 to make. If they lower the price now, they will bring the playstation division into bankruptcy with massive losses. Sony knows it will sell a ton of ps3s with a price drop that big, but it will look bad to their investors and they will lose too much money. Realistically, all these price drop rumors have to stop because i believe it will be at least 2 years before any price drop, and really no one should feel bad if they din get in on the price drop because if you buy it now, that's 2 extra years of the life of the ps3 you have.
