[QUOTE="acviper123"]Who is going to pay for $600 console with no AAA's? Sony should have learned with the PSP, hardware doesnt make the system, its the software. Why go after the tech junkies when the causual gamers make up a much larger share of the market. So far, Sony has made every wrong move. Luckily this is just the begining of the console war. WedgeAntilles07no AAA what about the future games like formula one(which is coming soon and the demo is awesome) and MGS4,gt 5, GOW 2, Motorstorm, and many others i dont know, but now im satisfied with the demos even though i dont play it too often, look towards the future who knows what awaits
I know there is plenty of reason to own a PS3 or I wouldnt have bought one, what I am saying is the "casual" gamer normally doesnt care whether it has Bluray or how many Blutooth headsets it supports, they care about price and games, and by includeing Bluray and many things that have nothing to do with games they have lost there former glory with the "casuals". But its not too late (or even close to too late), one killer app can change everything.

Once again, these are US only numbers, no Japan, no Europe PS3 is still much in it's infancy, Xbox 360 didn't sell like wildfire when it was first released, it experienced shortages, systems breaking down, crap games etc etc.[QUOTE="Ultimate-Playa"][QUOTE="chembro84"][QUOTE="Ultimate-Playa"]You forget that PS3 isn't released in Europe yet. kingtito
Umm yes it did sell and infact you couldn't find a 360 for months.
Let's face it, price IS a big concern for most people that's why the PS2 is still selling so well. If the PS3 was cheaper it would probably sell better, I'm sure of it.
You couldn't find a 360 for months because it was all sold out then none were shipped out stores.I know there is plenty of reason to own a PS3 or I wouldnt have bought one, what I am saying is the "casual" gamer normally doesnt care whether it has Bluray or how many Blutooth headsets it supports, they care about price and games, and by includeing Bluray and many things that have nothing to do with games they have lost there former glory with the "casuals". The casual gamers will buy ps3 when the price drops just like how they buy ps2 5 years after the original release. By the rate of how fast ps3 price drops, maybe 10 years later, people will still be buying ps3.
The PS2 costs a lot less and has better titles coming out (God of War 2 and Final Fantasy XIII are better than anything on the PS3 at this point)
That is why it's selling better.

a few reasons why the ps2 is out selling:
europe hasn't gotten theirs, and theyre supposably gonna sell out for a long time.(thats as i heard)
ps2 is cheap
lack of games on the ps3 currently(now not so people yell, believe me i have a ps3 and its great, and i wouldn't trade it for any other system...unless its the ps4...) but thatll change soon, i got a page long list of games currently available for pre-order at gamestop when i went to go preorder motorstorm, god of war 2 and armored core 4. its not even all the games, just ones available for pre-order.

If 360 drops price then ps3 is donenas-tmayne2k6No, if the 360 drops it's price before next year then the 360 is done.
I just played a next gen system (xbox 360) and have to say I am not impressed at all. I was playing gears of war and was not impressed at all. I mean yea, at first its like ok this is noticibly better than the ps2 graphics wise, but then its like, uh boring. If the Ps3 turns out to be like this I will be very disapointed especially since the next gen systems have been so overhyped. Anyone else agree? For anyone who has played both, please tell me xbox 360 just flat out sucks when compared to Ps3.u have a strange taste that´s not shared by the majority so you will probably be happy with your PS2 for a long time. ps3 rapes ps2 in every possible way.
Also.....When is the ps3 price going to go down? If Sony made the price of the Ps3 more reasonable, more people would buy it and the faster they would make their money back on games. But then again their still aren't that many games out yet. What happened to all those cool games that were pitched before the release of the Ps3 like warhawk and Guns? Forgot the others. Can someone refresh my memory? Wait! I got it! Sony should've made the Ps3 Xbox compatible so they would get a larger fan base. (kidding, I'm not a dumbass)

I can't believe there that many gamers out there who still don't own one? I mean where are these people coming from? I guess price does make a huge impact on what people will buy. Why else would the cheapest 3rd Gen the Wii have such high sells. I'm not a gaming analyest but this can't be a what Sony was hoping for.

PS2 was selling for £49 today at ASDA for one day only thats an amazing bargain if you dont already own one!
Its no surprise that the ps2 is still selling, there are still some amazing titles being released and its alot cheaper than the next gen consoles. If you put the number of console sales into a percentage of consoles that are available you'll get a clearer picture of how popular the ps3 is compared to the ps2
You do realise that there are millions of the original Xbox owners that aren't ready to move on to current gen and since MS has killed off the Xbox, their owners are now also getting the PS2 which is cheap and a vastly different gaming experience for the xbox. Since support for the PS2 will continue like the PS1 for the next 4 to 5 more years, these gamers have new games to play as well as older games they haven't played too. Chances are when they are ready to make the jump to current gen, a lot of them may very well go with the PS3. MS just didn't have the foresight for this at all.chubear700Pretty much spot on. I'm one of those former Xbox owners. Right now, I'm not sure if it makes sense for me to move on to next-gen because I'm currently living in a 3rd world country and my only TV is probably only a 19" SDTV (and probably not even that good anyway). The only reason I consider buying a PS3 is because I know that's the next-gen console I want and I'm doubting that the PS3 will drop $130 in price over the next 2 years. The fact is, it's a $130 console with an extremely proven track record and tons of great games. Seriously, there are hundreds of games at $20 or less, and had I not owned them on an Xbox, I could list dozens of games just in that price range that'd I want (even now I can name a dozen off hand). So if you pick up the games at a $15 average price, you're looking at $300 for the system and 10 games (you could probably do better than this if you want to try your hand at ebay). That would last me at least 6 months, and that's if I played frequently (which I've had less time since finishing school). Really, the PS2 is a steal right now for most people.

Um do a little more research buddy. Average Ps3(20gb)= 499.99 Average Xbox 360= 399.99 So i guess some how thats 5:1 difference? And ur saying ps3 is a ferrari and 360 is honda civic, ya that makes a ton of sense.... blakeperretyeah, and anyway i wouldnt care how they felt about it....I'd much much much rather have a ferrari, even if it was more expensive :)
