well i was looking through the pictures and the ps3 slim isn't so small comared to the fat ps3. But the ps2 slim is a whole bunch smaller than the fat ps2. So when i was imagining the ps3 slim i thought it would be that small but i guess i'm wrong.

Main reason is that the psu is still internal and the harddrive cannot be made smaller...the ps2 lost alot of its bulk from the power supply
The slim version of the ps2 came out later in the ps2's lifetime. If Sony would have waited another year or so to release a new ps3 it would've probably been smaller, but oh well.

I don't think they could do "that" much more with it, even after another year.
