Hola,
I have been kicking around getting a PS3 lately but with all of the different versions I had some questions about how its sold.
I am primarly a PC gamer, I have an XBox 360 for HD DVD movies and some games. I figured there are enough blu-ray exclusives andPS3 gamesto bring me into the Playstation camp. I have watched closely and so far the games released in both platforms seem to be comparable, so I was waiting for the exclusive and price drop to make the plunge.
From my research it seems like the following is true:
20GB (discountinued)
40GB No backward compatibility for PS2, larger HDD ($399)
60GB Has backward compatibility, larger HDD (???)
80GB Backward compatibility, larger HDD, 4 USB ports, Card Readers ($499)
I really dont plan on buying any PS2 games, dont see myself going backwards. So right now I am leaning towards the 40GB model, I will primarly be using the console for watching blu-ray and maybe some games. I tend to rent console games not buy them.
I would be interested in the 60GB, but I dont really see the 60GB for sale whats the deal?
I know the history with the 360 and its failure rate, how is the PS3 fairing? I will probably get a protection plan to save the headache.
Do any of the systems come with HDMI Cable in the box? Anyone know of a good AV switch, I think my TV is already out of available ports (only 2).
Thanks in Advance.
