I already grew up tired of rumble in the PS 2. Games like SC: DA and FF XII use exesively the rumble feat and it turns to be extremely bothering. So I just turned it off.

I actually miss the rumble lots...in regards to the argument...which is better?motion sensing or rumble.....I would take the rumble...if done correctly...it adds to the game experience....if your opinion differs...thats great...thats my 2 cents and I'm sticking to it

Funny how all these people say that Rumble is stupid but if a controller came out with both motion sensing and rumble for ten bucks more they would immediately buy it.

yes, i always find things vibrating in my hand makes the experience so much more real, mainly cause vibration=realism. ok, enough sarcasm, still dont get how people miss it, mainly cause i know for a fact none of you even noticed rumble in your games, most turned it off. it is a stupid thing to have anymore, cause it has no purpose, they have other ques to let you know what is going on in the game other than some silly shaking. why people cant move on from something so simple is beyond me

A lot of developers have expressed their disappointment in the lack of rumble feature. I read somewhere that Sony were possibly having talks with silverfish - a company who said they could implement rumble and tilt without interfering with the tilt sensors. If there is enough demand for it, I assume Sony would bring rumble back or at least reconsider.

You know, when I got the PS3 I thought I'd miss rumble...but I don't. It was cool to have it, sure, but ultimately unnecessary. r11011b

Exactly. I really don't notice the lack of rumble at all, and when the controller tilt is used in clever ways, it totally makes up for it. It's light and wireless, feels comfortable and familiar in my hand, so I couldn't ask for more. Except for some games to play on it, but in the next few months we will be taken care of.

Believe me, if you play PS3 you honestly don't even realize rumble isn't there. I thought it would be a big deal and was very pro rumble. I played it and didn't even realize it was gone. :PDA_B0MB

i totally noticed - the fact that the controller is uber light and feels like it's made of the cheapest plastic it doesn't help.

people are kind of dumb, if you played metal gear solid, you know you need rumble and dont say no. when you are hiding in a locker room and the soldiers are trying to look for you, the rumble gave you a reponse telling you how close an enemy soldier was from your position,  thats why developers like hideo is urging sony to bring rumble back, just like how they introduced it for the first time on the ps1 2 years after the system released, if you can have rumble and motion sensing on the wii why not the PS3 controller, its all because of that stupid lawsuit!!!

The only way to compensate for rumble is to make good use of the tilt functionality, which hasn't been happening at the moment. So far I think its been a bad trade off. Sony has to prove that tilt is worthwhile and good enough to replace rumble. I for one miss rumble and think its silly that Sony haven't added it yet despite the fact it is possible for the rumble to work with the tilt sensors.

I think coming from a ps2 to a ps3 you'll miss rumble because alot of games use the rumble and use it with force, but I barley notice it on most 360 games... and to be quite honest rumble is unnecessary, sure its good to have it, but if you dont have it its a not a big deal,

Does anyone here think that enough game developers and magazine journalist will piss and moan about the lack of rumble, especially in racing games. That Sony might not have a choice but to put it back in there controller at some point.  I can already see a game like Motorstorm getting points taken off in certain game magazines and on certain game websites because of the lack of rumble. I personally don't think that it's that big of a deal, but there are enough people that think that Sony took a step back by not including it. I'm worried that we might see a bit of a PSP syndrome here. What I mean is I'm constantly hearing about how alot of the PSP games could have been better had there been a second analog nub, and because of that I think some of the PSP games, even some of the really good ones. Got scores that could of been higher had it had that second analog nub. Check out the video review of the new Ratchet and Clank game for the PSP on Gametrailers.com and you'll see what I mean.

I miss rumble like crazy. People say the vibration is annoying, well fine if it is turn it off. Fact is now we dont have a choice to do so b/c it isnt there.
Untill somone makes A holo-Deck or a Danger room. Rumble was the next best we had to an immersive realistic experience.
Im not a fan of twisting my hands and moving myself all around to controll something on the screen, If i was I would have bought another console.
The fact is we dont have rumble because of Sony's legal issues. not b/c of sixaxis interferance.
SONY knows there is a huge percentage of their fanbase that wants rumble back.
We can only hope something will work out to do so in the near future. And Developers will be able to offer downloadable patches to re-implement it in the existing games especially Motorstorm.

I think you know that you don't miss rumble, because if you really did that's sad. PC games don't have rumble whatsoever and yet most of the best games come to that platform. Did people complain about lack of rumble? No. the Gamecube came out with the wavebird which was basically a replacement to the original GC controller. That controller didn't have any rumble. Did people complain about it? No. Of course some people that tried to make things bigger than what they really were complained, but everyone knew that rumble was never that big a deal. I think you're just complaining over something that you know yourself wasn't a big deal.

I don't miss rumble one bit, I never understand all the fuss about it.  It offers almost nothing.  But about MGS, wtf happens when you use the AR sensor then?  The whole point of that was that the controller rumbles when someone is around.  That is one of the extreme few problems of lack of rumble.

I do think that this whole "lack of rumble" thing has gone way out of proportion.  This whole thing would even be an issue but 360/Wii fanboys just use it over and over as another reason "PS3 sucks".

At first I thought rumble wasn't going to be missed, and that the tilting wasn't going to add so much...but now that I own the PS3, I think, still, that rumble is not necessary, i dont miss it, even a little. Otherwise i liked the tilting a lot, because is no t overused or exaggerated (like in the wii) but it's only small thing that make you feel more inside the game.

why is it sad you dont have it? miss the 2 games that used it correctly vibrating in your hand, which doesnt help put you in the game, most people it would take them out, cause in real life, believe it or not, YOUR HANDS DONT RUMBLE. the only time it was reasonably effective was MGS, thats it, racing it was dumb, fighting it was useless, FPS it was useless, its was a gimmick that you people bought hook line and sinker. i will bet money you never once said, man this rumble is really good in this game. ever read a game review for PS2 that stated anything about how well the rumble worked? me neither. they find a reason to knock the top dog of last gens console, and run with it, they beat the dead horse over and over. on a side note, who played frogger on PC? i seem to remember playing it on Atari, and in arcades, but never the computer. kinda funny how you only miss the rumble when its gone. like a child who hates a toy until someone else wants it, so sad

My take is this- if you've experienced a particular game with rumble before, you'll probably notice it. If you haven't, you probably won't care. When I got a wavebird, I refused to use it because I had experienced my games with rumble and it felt unnatural without it. But I've also played Winning Eleven 9 on both the PC and Xbox (brother's version). I don't notice the lack of rumble at all because I played the PC version much more before I tried the Xbox version. What needs to happen is for developers to design other ways to draw players in the game. Take God of War 2 with the battle of that giant colossus (don't know the name, sorry)...when he smacks his hand down, if Kratos gets hit, the camera could shake and the screen would get blurry. That would easily bring you into the game much more than rumble.

How would they be different? Rumble technology has not changed since it was first introduced into the N64 so the experience would be exactly the same as the PS2, meaning that it would be practically non existent except for certain games.(once again most likely MGS or GT) Can you name a wii game or 360 game that is really made better by rumble? No. That's because rumble really isn't all that great. Once again tell me how rumble is so important? Oh yeah, you can't. And saying that the last title you played on the PC is frogger sounds pretty ridiculous

I have been playing my pc games w/o rumble for some time now and it has yet to distract me from playing good games such as doom, f.e.a.r., HL2 and more. rumble for console games is overrated. If sony were to release the ps3 w/o rumble and not tell me they had removed it I would not even notice.
