yeah but its not as common as the RROD issue. Let me stress that its not as common! But there are problems that are similar. I had a 40gb PS3 and it crapped out after 13 months. I'm pretty sure the CPU just over heated and over time it degraded some of the contact points. I did not get the YLOD, it just froze one day, shut off and never produced audio or video again. I could still turn it on and off, but nothing else worked.
And it only effects the old 60 GB's which aren't even sold in stores anymore.Vexx88
that is as BS as saying the jasper chips fixed rrod
Definitely no. Nothing in regards of RROD.
You're safe as it gets when it comes to technology life cycles.
I wouldn't call the RROD uncommon. MS has already stated it's cost them a billion $.RRoD= Uncommon
YLoD= Not as common

The PS3 DOES have the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD) but its not nearly as frequent as the RROD (39% for RROD, 7% YLOD)
And the Wii really has no overheat problems, but some people who picked it up on day one (Nov 16th 2006) are having failing disc drives, but its only a $70 repair.
