That happened to me after updating Motorstorm.

usualy when you turn it off and you hear 3 rapid beeps it means it was busy doing something or an error had occurred. It also does this if your ps3 freezes and you turn it off. nothing to be worried about mine does it all the timeI run mine allot as well.
