Is the ps3 capable to play dvd movies??? whats the deal with the blu-ray player???

Please, enlight me, cause this will be a buying decision factor...

Yes. It plays everything except HD-DVD. But Blu-Ray is better because there is more space on the disc so the movie can be higher quality and longer.

Blu-Ray fits up to 50GB on a disc, so it's ideal for today's gaming as well.

yes it plays regular dvd's and even upscales them to higher resolutions, deal with blu ray player well it plays blu ray movies and the games are blu ray so can hold huge amounts of extra content compared to regular dvds which i believe only hold 9gb or something close to that blu ray i think is only using 25gb at the moment but has a capacity of 50gb
