My PS3 has been running fine (component video/digital audio). Went to visit a friend and we hooked it up using his HDMI cable. When I got home I had to hard reset the system to get the video showing. I reset the settings to 480p, 720p, and 1080i (max my tv handles).

Now, when I pull up a demo or use the web browser on screen the top 2 inches of the picture is bending and kind of flickering. Just the top of the screen. I've tried reseting the video settings and elimiating different settings. The issue doesn't exist when I use 480p or 720p only when I'm using 1080i which is the max for my tv set. I used to have it set to 1080i.

Can anyone help?

I had a problem that was different than your but this might help. I took my Ps3 to my parents house and had to switch my output settings to SDTV. When I went back to my place and reverted to HD my installed themes would never work. I eventually deleted my profile and made a new one and viola everything worked fine. Maybe try deleting your profile and creating a new one. Save all of your saves and data first to a second profile before you delete your original.
