I hope this true. For those of us who only have a 1080i TV and no 720p. And the majority of PS3 games are in 720p...I want to experience in HD, instead of 480p's ED
it will come, sony is being strategic i think. They are waiting till bluray is the clear winner. If they didnt wait no one would really buy bluray movies they would just get dvds and have the ps3 upscale them.

 There's no comparison between real HD, with perfect compresion, better color, no banding, better shadow detail, etc, compared to a crappy compressed low-res DVD that's upscaled that only effects it maybe 20% or less, depending on what effects the player does to remove artifacts and aliasing.
Sony is so stupid..... WTF they alienate 80 % of the hd community that only can do 1080i..... I for one will not buy a ps3 unless it upscales to 1080i the most used hd signal... Sony royally sucks that they still haven't fixed this problem. You know what the real reason is that the PS3 does not have a scaler and it will never come, if this is the case sony nailed the last nail in their coffin.

errmmm sony is losing tons of money per ps3, software sales are horrible thats where all the money is. Ken is going to get fired... PS3 sales are dismal at best and will never catch the new king xbox 360. Losing exclusives left right and center......

I didn't think the difference would be that huge either then I saw them running side by side and the difference is huge. There's no question which is which. Blu-Ray looks so much better.

Wrong. The PS3 software sales are up on the top ten in Europe and if you do some research, you'll find tons of articles saying that the PS3 is doing better than the other systems when they launched. On top of that, PS3 is not the only one that is losing exclusives. We got the other system's exclusives also, Oblivion and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Who's the fool here?
