WTH !!!!
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I hate you Ubisoft.
I was definitely on the fence about this or LBP, but now..
Just, wow.
Sure, it wouldn't kill you to play in 720p, but 1080p is standard now.
Yeah, I'll just support the better game.
Well it wont affect me, because my TV is far below 1080p capable anyway.
Besides, I'm growing used to the fact that PS3 non-exclusive games seem to often be inferior in someway to their Xbox counterparts.
TC you dont know ANYTHING AT ALL !
People the game is rendering at 720p.Taking it ANY higher than that would result in a MASSIVE quality and sharpness loss. Both games render at 720p.Also there is a force upscaler in 360.

AGREED, ppl spread all kinds of rumors they dont kno about these days to make one system look inferior.
[QUOTE="Elitheos"]All I needed to know, Ubisoft just lost a sale. I'll buy Resistance 2 instead. HarshGamer
Agreed
I bought Far Cry 2, but I'm already sick of it. Way too many negative issues. Even more than the reviews lead you to believe. Also, I didn't really like the shooting mechanics. It seems like the iron sights are too far away, and it's just hard to see your enemies through them.
Is force upscaler... bad?
(Please be bad, please be bad..)

ohh you have got NO idea...IT SUCKS ! Ever noticed the bluriness in GTA IV at 720/1080p ? You cant make out a person properly walking 20 feet away from you.But the same thing DOES NOT happen in oblivion even though its running at a lesser resolution 720p.The reason is that GTA IV has been upscaled on both models 360 and PS3.Its originally rendering at 640p and than upscaled to 720/1080p.Where as oblivion is RENDERING at 720p.Theres ALOT of difference !! Hell even PS1 games forced upscaled look worse than their original rendering resolution.IGN made a whole article about this..
Why does this piss people off? When i buy a 6000$ dollar 60inch 1080P T.V and i get a ps3 because i expect my games to be 1080p as well, and then i get screwed over for wanting the best console, this really does piss me off. Along with all the other things that are going on with the ps3 (exclusives) its really quite annoying.sr_darkzodiac
You do realize that a rendered 720p will be much more sharper and would have a better quality than upsclaed 1080p ??

If you have a native 1080p tv and the image is taking up the entire screen, then the image is being upscaled anyway...by your tv. And if you truly have a $6000 tv, the scaler is likely far better than what is found in the PS3 or 360. So I don't really see your point. The 360 version is not native 1080p, it's upscaled.
The only people who should be complaining about this are the folks who have a 1080i tv that does not support 720p. If so, the game will be rendered at 480p.

Dude, trade it in for the Resistance or something.

I just put it up on eBay. I'll get more money for it that way than trading it in. Even in its first week, I'd be lucky to get $30 back. I hate game stores for that.
Apparently you dont know the 360 version suffers from black screens due to loading a new area to another. Yep a black screen of oblivion until everything loads into place.
Be content that the PS3 version does not do that.
And when shooting, dont go fully auto but shoot in bursts for higher accuracy. Believe me it will drop enemies a lot faster.
I think you people got your standards too high. If you are going to pass the game because of minor glitches than you should stop gaming. So what that guy got stuck in the ground or image is little blurry in the distance compered to other console or PC. This things happen before and will happen in the future. The game-play is not realistic, guns are inaccurate, so what, they are not supposed to be cause than game would not be playable if they are. If you want realism go to the army.
Just for example take a look at COD4. This game has become a standard how FPS should be made. But it also have glitches. Do you think that when you shoot the guy in the head twice he should be standing? He should be dead or at least on the ground. But that did not turn me of the game. I just shoot him third time and he died. I moved on and continue playing and have fun.
Fun is all what matters!
Stop fretting, guys.
Nearly all Xbox 360 games "support" 1080p. Including Halo 3, which is much-publicized to run at 640p, not 720p. It takes a 640p signal and upscales it to 720p on a 720p TV, and if you have a 1080p TV, it upscales it from 640p to 1080p.
How exactly is that a bonus? It's the PS3's fault insofar as it doesn't have a hardware upscaler like the Xbox 360....the Xbox 360's 1080p games are NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT being rendered in real time by the hardware at real 1080p resolution. They can even be rendered like Halo 3 in sub-720p resolution, then upscaled. The article is bogus, written by someone who doesn't understand what he's talking about.
All the other stuff is grossly minor.
And, for the record, 360 has only 2 games that run in true 1080p resolution. PS3 has the most out of any console to date.

Yup yup. Anyway i don't think its PS3 fault, it's the lazzy developers who just use cheap ways to release their games on PS3, Ubisoft sucked so bad on this one, not only they messed with the resolution thing, but also de 3.5 GB forced install.
I remember SCEA being hard on development back in the PS2, when they didn't bring to america games like Samurai Shodown 5 and some other SNK games because they said they didn't fill quality standars, so SNK had to bring those games in compilations. They should do something at least about those big installs
