So I was playing Blazblue CS just earlier when during the match it froze, and my PS3 shutdown, soon after, the red light started flashing. It seems like something to do with the power supply overheating?

In any case, does anyone have a fix? I'd really at least get my disc out.

What model is your PS3? That's usually a sign of overheating. It could lead to a YLOD.

If it won't turn all the way on you're screwed. My 60 died that way and I had to send it to Sony. They had to remove the disc themselves.

Same sh1t happened to me last week. I got MOH and played online for a little over an hr, my lil bro gets on and BAM. A fing YLOD . And Just got Fall Out New Vegas, Borderlands dlc, AND missed out on the huge UC2 Anviversary event with 5x cash. It sucks cuz I paid $600 for a launch 60 gb and now it completely shat on me. Thanks Sony! .Rant over.

If it beeps three times and a yellow light flashes, and considering the model you have, your PS3 might have YLOD'd on you. If that's the case you'll have to send it in for repairs or try to repair it yourself. To remove the disc, try turning your PS3 on with the switch in the back while pressing the eject button. This doesn't work with the oldest 20GB and 60GB models, but with the 40GB and 80GB models it usually forces the disc to eject.

Fortunately it doesn't do that, it just beeps several times until I decide to stop it. I'm just hoping it's nothing more than overheating and that it'll turn back on tomorrow.

I feel that I'd rather not drop another few hundred bucks to buy another console if this can be fixed.

If it's just an overheat 30-60 mins should be enough. Mine would act like it was going to turn on, then flash the red light.
