Hi, my ps3 froze earlier today, while I was playing COD WAW. However, right before my system froze, my ethernet cable got disconnected from my modem. So I reconnected my cable, and when the notification can up that my ethernet cable is connected/not connected, (I don't remember which one it said) my system froze, with the notification still one there. So I held the power button and heard one beep, and then restarted my system.

My question however is, was it the ethernet cable getting disconnected the thing that caused the freeze in the first place? btw i was playing single player.

Well since a notification came up saying that your cable became disconnected I think it may have been the Ethernet which caused the problem in the first place.

yea it froze with the notification on the screen. so that was probably what caused it?

also, is my ps3 ok, since i've only had it for about 2-3 weeks.

I'll be honest Consoles do Freeze, Although there is no pattern to when my PS3 decided to freeze. I Would like to say that I have a Launch 60GB system and it is extremely reliable. It may freeze ever so often, But ive never lost data or had any serrious after effect from a PS3 freeze. In your case, I assume that your ethernet cable caused the freeze,

Your PS3 is probably fine, my PS3 freezes from time to time as well, most do, and even if there was any serious problem, which I doubt, you could always send it in for free repair since you've only had it for 2-3 weeks. All the best man.

Haha, I prefer using a PC for internet use, the PS3's browser is too blah.
