PS3 hard disk problems

so i came home turned on my ps3 and a message shows up ( cannot read , the correct hard disk was not found) i turn it off then on again it works normal i formatted but still the same problem should i worry on anything ? is this the ps3 prblem or the brand of the hd ? its seagate , its 320 gb has this problem happened recently tto anyone of you guys thanks for the help appreciate it :) plz answer :) peace

I have a 320gig HD as well and haven't had any problems.
For now, just take out your 320gb HD, reseat it and hope it doesn't happen again.
If it does, use your stock HD for a bit and see if it's still a problem.

In any case, the brand shouldn't matter, especially since PS3's launch with Seagate as stock (at least here in NA).

wierd it should work but it could prob be a bad sector on your hard disk you might want to hook it up to a computer and fully format it before you use it on the ps3

Take your harddrive out and then put it back in. If that does not fix it then the hard drive needs replaced. I know cause it happened to me.

If he used the full format utility option on the PS3 (takes like 18-22 hours for a drive that size), it'll automatically lock out any bad sectors it detects.
Maybe try that TC (if you didn't already).

yea i formatted my hd on ps3 it took me 28 hours a day and 4 more hours so damn long ah well i guess i was unlucky picking this hd i will buy a new one maybe a bigger one any idea if 1 tb works on ps3 ? though is 1 tb out yet or no thanks again

this has happened to me a few times once i moved the ps3 and the power lead came out .and turned it on reads correct hard disc not found had to leave it of for 3 hrs before it would work again also done it when game froze and had to hold the finger over power light to turn it off ,no solutions though.

The HD doesnt need to be replaced... I had one I took out of my laptop and it works fine because I never had issues with it and I get this error every now and then.
